I was 15 years old in 2000. I think the Olympics are a wonderful event that expands various possibilities for humans. I was very moved by the song "We"ll be one" at the closing ceremony, but at that time I couldn't even search the internet and I didn't know the title of the song, so I've forgotten about it until now. I'm excited to be able to watch the closing ceremony video of the Sydney Olympics on KZbin and listen to "We"ll be one" for the first time in a while. Thank you for your wonderful singing voice!

Nikki Webster stole the show at the 2000 Sydney Olympics! Whenever I think about those games the first thing I think about is how she stole the show! Nikki Webster was the Olympics in 2000!!!

As a 9/10 year old my dream was to be a sprinter like Cathy Freeman. Unfortunately I chose the wrong lifestyle am no where near fit or healthy right now as a 28year old just wish I did keep pursuing the dream I may have made it. I just thought if someone beat me in a race it was over for me and that's why I gave up. I hope other people don't give up on their dreams

In 1991 INXS was the biggest Band in the World, selling out Wembley but after the Opening Ceremony, Nikki Webster was 1 of the biggest Stars. So all those Stars you say you were hanging out with, at the time they would all want to be hanging out with you. They would of all proudly told the story, I met Nikki Webster or I hung out with Nikki Webster. The Closing Ceremony included - Kylie Minogue, Men At Work, INXS, Savage Garden Midnight Oil, & Nikki Webster. Nikki Webster at the time was the biggest Star there, that's how big she has become after that amazing Opening Ceremony. And what did they do with Nikki, they put her in one of the Top Corners of the Temporarily Northern Stand {behind the goalpost for Football Matches}. I got 3/4 of the way up this Stand, & I was heavily affected by the attitude. Nikki Webster, was as high up as you could get, & she did not miss a beat.

I have never realised How Much work goes on behind the Scenes when not allowed inside the Stadium. Moving the entire Stands forward DAMN, I wonder if the MCG is similar except there isn't NRL games played there.

MCG doesn’t have movable stands, they should get them though. Docklands stadium in Melbourne does have movable stands though to go from AFL to NRL/Soccer

@@BrisbaneBroncosfan67 yeah probably too big for A league games, but the stadium still has the capacity to host bigger soccer games if needed. AFL don’t use ANZ/Accor stadium anymore either, only one game there since 2015 but if they want to schedule a big game there they know they can.

@@allanlafontaine2587yeah the only a-league games that Docklands could host are finals games, but the A-league finals are in the AFL’s season, so that won’t happen.

21 years ago, I watched it got lit on TV in another country. Yesterday, I visited it in person. Thank you for keeping the memories alive, and good on me for working hard so I can get PR and start living in Australia. 💪
