hi I have entered a Visa debit card to buy connects, I thought the balance would be sufficient but it failed. I initially bought 40 connects but it failed then I tried to buy 20 but failed. What's wrong?

Can you tell me please, I'm already working on upwork. and now my sister is on upwork and trying to get start work. And now she added my ATM card to buy connects that was her mistake, now upwork saying that verify the ID card of the man whom card is, so If we added my ID card info to her account to get verify for that ATM card. Thing is will it effects my original account? if I add my details that is actually my ATM.
