I bought my first SRX4 in Tokyo, used... in 1987... it was a second generation... when I sold it after a couple years, I realized there was no other bike I wanted and bought my second SRX4, also a 1987... I rode it in Tokyo for almost... 100,000 km... and over 20 years... in the USA... I got SRX6s.... Peaceful, the bike in the video is my 5th SRX.

great video what camera are you using and how do you get the sound of the motorcycle but no wind noise?

it is a GoPro... Hero 9, I think... it has a sponge that matches this model for wind muffling qualities... but this video... we are riding slow... and there is not that much wind shear potential. i play with extra things like my hat or scarf to muffle more... trial and error. even the video setting can be... ... well, let me say this, the stabilization intelligence is helping these videos be much more enjoyable... gotta go...

also, using some kind of additional wide angle option, that seems to give the stabilization/cropping more material to compensate.

What are the little black boxes hanging on the left mirror for? It has me most puzzled. These little SRX sound better at 60 than tickover! Might be good and light for this old man to manage??

off the left mirror, my remote for the camera. Kickstarting is ... potentially a problem for people not used to it... but if you get the proper setting, it is pretty easy to kickstart.

Wish Yamaha would bring back the SRX600, maybe with some engine updates (more performance) and better stock suspension. Wider rims for 120/160 tires, everything else the same. Great bike!

I had a 1987 SRX400 for four years. Did a lot of rolling starts after long stretches of freewheeling. Great feeling.

Mostly, I like riding alone, this is a special occasion where it is the road test for one of the SRXs... whose rider is... very deep into all kinds of motorbikes and racing, so, I felt it was good once in a while... the SRX is not a slow bike but I like to stop and smell the flowers and take photos, hahaha.

From your other videos I gather that you are in SoCal somewhere. In '90 I rode an SRX from Toronto to Ottawa to Vancouver to L.A. and back through Arizona and Utah. It was a great trip, the bike a little small to carry much equipment, but it worked, including a small tent. I loved riding on Highway 1, it was much smaller and twistier than I thought it would be, and also the Redwoods.

Toshi Nakama, SRX rider, who I just learned tonight had died... was a man who made his living with quality sound... Vestax . I never met him but I dedicate this passage of SRX sound to you, it is mostly clear driving at my own pace, the dog tired and done with his business is zipped into his bag and relaxed.
