Hello, the watch has been running continuously since I assembled it four days ago, but I have been wearing it almost every day for a few hours. The power reserve of the watch is supposed to be 40 hours and it appears to be working as it should

Hi again, this is a Quartz (battery operated) watch so it should last a few years without replacing the battery

Maybe an airgun or compressed air to blow it off before closing it up(or rodico). dust/lint on the dial. Maybe that step wasn't shown. I watch wristwatchrevivial a lot lol. Nice job on this, was a cool watch/build. I may try my hand at it one day.

What I find amazing is that a replacement pallet fork fits and works perfectly. There can't be much leeway when it comes to the tolerance involved with the pallet wheel.

That’s a kif trior shock setting. I’ve had a lot of trouble with them too. I’ve found that a small concave stake from my staking set works the best to install them. You can also sharpen and carve out pegwood to use as a tool.

@@clm_watchmaking Hello, that is a very kind offer, but I don't think I will need the tools for a long time, and I also have a staking set. So I will try that IF I get across another watch that has KIF incabloc. Much appreciate it

Thank you, very informative video, nice camera work and narrative. I enjoy old Seiko watches, I own a 7005 which I bought new in 1972 while serving in the USAF. I just wish the old automatic Seikos had manual wind also. My only issue. Thanks again!

Hello, Thanks so much for watching my video. Yes, I am quite new to Seiko watches but I appreciate how well built their movements are. I also noticed it takes a few hours for the watch to be fully / accurately running. But, it keeps very good time as long as I wear it everyday!

Hello there! Thank you. I bought it from Aliexpress as usual. Try searching leather brass iron. It has a temp control and you can buy different brass tips (extra cost), which is also great for different DIY jobs such as soldering

Hi Robert, Thank you. I used calf leather I think for the black part. and the lining part I am not so sure. The truth is I go to local wholesale leather store and buy different scrap pieces for a few bucks each. I pick that are soft and about 1-2mm thick Best, Joon

@Noob.Watchmaker
@Noob.Watchmaker 2 ай бұрын
Hello, I could clean this particular dial to make it brighter and new (as I have tried on other Junghans dial like this one), but I like the vintage patina on this particular watch. On some dials (not this one), the logo is printed on top of the transparent lacquer so it is risky to clean the dial because you can easily erase the prints on the dial as you clean it. Anyhow, I usually stay away from cleaning the dials because it is risky and It is an artform that I am not familiar with at all. Thanks!
