How long was the render?
@NickStubbsАй бұрын
It depends on what you are doing and what type of file you are doing it too. I've done so many but a 10 second old DV file being up sized to 720p and enhanced can take just 20 seconds. However, I actually upsized this entire video from 1080p to 4k before uploading because Camtasia only records and outputs my HD screen recording at 1080p and I wanted to show off the 4k goodness. That took about 3-4 hours to render. Everything else is somewhere in between. For example, upsizing a 6 second, 1080p clip to high quality 4k whilst slowing it 8x can take an hour or two. But it's worth it. The good thing about this software is you can stack your renders. Therefore, set one running and whilst it's doing its thing, you can work on and queue as many more as you like and then render them all overnight.
@rw3452Ай бұрын
@@NickStubbs I don’t understand how camtasia fit into this. I guess I’m only interested in the 4K upscale and slow mo for pro use. Still seems like. Very slow process. What system are you using? Would it be better slowing down a 4K 50 clip than 1080?
@NickStubbsАй бұрын
Because to show Topaz in action, I had to use Camtasia for screen recording and I only use 1080 monitors. Therefore Camtasia only rendered 1080 hence the upsize. However, the opening clips were all original to show off the quality. I'll do another video after the beach motocross showing the process for slowing 4k 60fps video 16x whilst monitoring the rendering times. I may even do something before then...may even upsize it to 8k too 😉👍
@NickStubbsАй бұрын
And yes, slowing a 4k 50 clip would be better so I'll will be filming the motocross in 4k 60 and see how it goes. My PC is pretty powerful. Upgraded last year to top specs.

Ive just bought a canon R, and I loke photographing planes, do the blue boxes follow the plane as its moving?
@NickStubbs4 ай бұрын
I think so. If you set AI Servo and then "subject tracking", you should be good. Remember to go to the AF Menu Tab - > AF5 - > Initial AF pt set for Face + Tracking and change that from AUTO to manual selection. Changing this setting allows you to place the AF area over your subject via the touchscreen which initiates subject tracking and you’ll see that the camera places a shapeshifting box around your subject and track it across the frame.

Good stuff Nick. In your scenario of Tracking a Bride/Father coming up the isle or Walking Bride/Groom. What settings would you may work best… Speed Sensitivity Mode (Zone, 1-Area, ?) Thanks for your take.
@NickStubbs6 ай бұрын
Cheers for commenting and good question. I would definitely commandeer a couple of family members to practice this with before a wedding but here's my take. They will be walking fairly slowly so you don't want the focus "hunting" as they walk. I would start at the default (middle) settings for both, I.e. not too fast or slow, and see if it keeps track. I think it should do as any minor focus transitions, if any, will be too slow to notice but if you do, slow them both down a notch and test again. I would only speed up if I was chasing kids around playing at the wedding or filming any closer but faster moving subjects. As for the mode/focus area, I would choose a custom size that fits both people in as they walk. Using the above should mean minimal hunting with both people in focus and to ensure that, I would use an aperture of around f5.6 if you are relatively close. Hope this helps 👍
