This was the 1978 edited as a movie for international release. Originally a two parter entitled "The Deadly Dust".

Amazing!! I hope you can complete the project! It would also be great to have the complete series on HD but the 16mm prints are too hard to find. I think that someone has an episode on 16mm and put it on Dailymotion, but so far that's all I've seen

That looks pristine and amazing. I still think it'd be cool if they added Nick Hammond to another Spidey crossover movie with the other dudes. He could be a wiser mentor Spidey for the other three. It could be a barrel of laughs and also cool. Anyways can't wait to see even more Spidey restorations. Super cool.

The cab driver refusing to pick him up & Spidey resorting to riding home inside the back of a garbage truck seemed very much like something out of the Lee/Ditko comics.
@JeffGutman6 ай бұрын
Sooooo does this new restoration technique work quicker than what you were doing before?
@spiderman77TVfans6 ай бұрын
A little bit. The automated part is a lot better, and overall it’s a less destructive process. Basically what would have been 2 or 3 passes can now be done in 1 pass, but it’s still a frame by frame process, but with more control.

Could you upload the scene where Peter is climbing Byron's building and jumping from one building to another? They are scenes that were made with a green screen that, due to the quality, currently looks really bad. I would like to see if those restored scenes would look better in 1080p.
@spiderman77TVfans6 ай бұрын
Much like those scenes have a noticeable drop in quality on the vhs compared to other scenes, the same is true in this 35mm version. It seems those effects scenes were mastered on “video” and then transferred to film. There are even scenes in that portion that didn’t contain effects, but were inexplicably mastered on “video”. The good thing is that they were filmed on 35mm so if the original negative was scanned (and someone took the time to re-composite them) they would be great.

Yep… I recorded this, and then for some reason I managed to record Captain America two: death too soon around the same time, that was one of my favorite VHS’s and I still have the thing lol. Yes it’s cheesy, yes the effects are mostly horrible and yes, Spidey rarely speaks… But Nicholas Hammond is the greatest Peter Parker of all time, and I’ll die on that hill happily.

Hot take: Nicholas Hammond is the best live-action Peter Parker.
@solitaire85857 ай бұрын
I wouldn’t even call that a hot take, as somebody born in 74 and learned to read with comic books he is the John Romita version brought to life in that show. He takes the role seriously, and he is so earnest and likable. Has always been my dream my dream to meet the guy and tell him what those reruns meant to me as a kid
