If you ever came to Brazil, especially at the Northeast region (where most of the beaches are) please feel free to send me a message for tips! Cheers

I'm sorry if we were coming off that way, but we truly didn't mean it for it to be that way. We truly love the Scottish accent especially with all the different dialects depending on where you are in the country.

Hi great video, thinking of going to Porto or Lisbon.Which would you recommend thanks?
@justjourneyingwithjustinezach8 ай бұрын
Honestly that’s really hard to answer, and I’m sure a lot of people have different opinions. I liked Porto a lot because it felt like a chill city and less crowded than Lisbon. I think there is potentially more to do in Lisbon, but I’m no expert!

Thumbs up to whoever recommended MIC, it really is the best indian restaurant in Glasgow. Every restaurant should be tapas style as it gives you the chance to be more adventurous in what you try.

I'm sorry that the first thing you saw when you arrived in Glasgow was Scotland's shame - the Orange Order. That would be like me arriving somewhere in the southern states of the US and walking straight into a KKK rally. I hope it didn't ruin the rest of your visit to Glasgow.
@justjourneyingwithjustinezach Жыл бұрын
We were able to meet with the locals to get their perspective in both Glasgow and Edinburgh. It was really informative and I am glad they were able to explain it to us in more detail.
@johnmclean104610 ай бұрын
I’m a Scot and proud of the history, including the Orange order, the religious freedom it brought, but don’t forget it’s our ( every Scottish person) history and culture, it’s not embarrassing or shameful in the slightest, but it’s fine you don’t like it or agree with it.
@johnscot19 ай бұрын
I'm a proud Scot too. Love my country. However, I disagree. There is plenty in our history that is both shameful and embarrassing (e.g. the empire) and the Orange Order is one present day example. Total anachronism.
@johnmclean10469 ай бұрын
@@johnscot1 hi John I disagree with you, with regards to things both shameful and embarrassing, I feel no shame or embarrassment and I’ll tell you why, I had no part in any of these things, I can’t alter any of the facts about them, yes as all empires did, we did bad things, but we also did good things. I’m not saying two wrongs make a right, but they’ve happened. As scots we were at the forefront of many things in the empire, fighting, missionary work, technology, stopping slavery, so you can’t please all of the people all of the time. With regard to the orange order it’s the same, it exists, it happened, and it still to this day shapes Scotland and its people. If Catholicism had won it would just be a reversal of fortune, except it would be influenced by catholic doctrine. I don’t see the walk often but people are entitled to celebrate or protest, and can we ban one without banning the others? Enjoy your day
@johnscot19 ай бұрын
@@johnmclean1046 I accept that neither you and I are personally responsible for past misdeeds, however much is still shameful and embarrassing in a historical sense. The Empire good or bad? I think it would be hard for the scales to fall on the side of "good" I was brought up a protestant in a church going family, but I'm now an atheist. Protestantism/Catholicism soon won't make any difference in Scotland (and probably the UK). Christianity is dying in this country and not unless there is a "second coming" I believe it will continue to wither in the next 100 years. I didn't suggest banning Orange Order walks, I just wish they would "wither" too. They represent a very small minority of Scots.

Aww... So sorry you had a boring experience of the Highlands. Loch Ness is a famous name but not the most beautiful or interesting loch. If anyone is looking at this vid considering a trip to the Highlands from Glasgow you'd be better off going to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs which is a shorter drive and you can get out and hike more easily. It sounds like you drew the short straw on the driver though...
