@@Melvorgazh Hi There, he's a he not a she, "Blackie O'Connell" (easy mistake to make due to his hair) but by far my favourite uilleann piper and all really great sociable lads. Blackie and Cyril (also a great singer / songwriter) have been playing together for years now and with fiddle player Eoghan Neff for a fews years as well. The best on the planet when the lads are playing live and on fire and a wonderful sight to behold. Good luck to you and... enjoy!

@@Lissadell1916 I know of Blackie. He played also with his uncle Conor Keane :) Very skilled piper indeed

The first part of this tune that you played here is referred to in every source that I have seen as a traditional Irish slow air. Do you have a source for it being Danish?

Beautiful rendition. Truly evokes the inner meaning, the intensity of grieving, of this air. I've thought of this piece as an "add-on" multiple instrument piece -- beginning first with the first instrument, tin whistle or flute or fiddle, and then, verse by verse, another instrument adding a voice, until the four or five piece ensemble is complete. You, Robert Knudson, have brought everything there is to this piece in your elegantly nuanced rendition. Thank you. Merle
