"Its alright, Im here.. to help you feel brave-" God I've never had a series hit me so hard. I was in an incredibly dark place this year and hadn't seen just how gone from myself i'd become. This book, this moment, healed something in me. I've never cried so hard so unexpectedly. I come back to this moment when I start to forget myself, till I don't anymore. Stories can have so much power. Stormlight Archieves has changed my life in so many ways with each book. I hope more people find this series or just other great stories in general to help them the way this series has. 🌠

Call me crazy, but this moment is not so epic compared with dalinar giving up his sword or Adolin and Kaladin fighting against three shardbladers or Dalinar open a perpendicularity.
@CreateAmazment Жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say it's meant to be an "epic" moment. More like, a sigh of relief. This is Kaladin finally killing the thing that has been haunting him since he was a child

Crazy
@joshembling52725 ай бұрын
That's because those moments are massive highs in the story This however is Kaladin facing his past and accepting something he has tried so much to deny, in Oathbringer he refused to say the oath cause of what it implied however this shows Kaladin not getting an epic moment however a moment allowing him to begin his process of healing
@brendondavid73494 ай бұрын
not every crowning moment of a book needs to be an epic moment. This was an emotional pull for a character that has been through so much. It hits the same level but in different way.

I've heard a few people give Brandon flack for how much Kaladin fights against his depression and PTSD but those who've gone through intense trama know it just doesnt fade. It's a fight and you sometimes get knocked down.

I think Kaladin just suffers PTSD, Its amazing how Sanderson can write such things into stories. Made me cry many times...
@brianalavigne3381 Жыл бұрын
@@sebastian114 Dalinar has PTSD. Kaladin has depression. They’re two very different things. Kaladin suffered long before all of the events from the books. It showed that throughout his flashbacks. Depression states fluctuate. Some days are better than others. I would know.

@@brianalavigne3381 Fairly certain itd PTSD it can manifest different in people. He did suffer depression but last book he definetly didnt suffer depression but PTSD.

@@sebastian114Kaladin has survivor's guilt more than anything, and a little ptsd, depression and seasonal affect disorder too. He started suffering from PTSD quite a bit in RoW when he kept freezing up when fighting, poor Elhokar. Fuck Moash. Dalinar deals with PTSD the most out of everyone, Shallan has split personalities, Kaladin has survivor's guilt, Renarin is on the spectrum, and Navani has imposter's syndrome. It's the only fantasy book or series that I've seen incorporate people's flaws like this. It brings the character development to a new level, it's kinda ruined other series for me.

I'm sure it won't be. Everything is supposed to be tied up, right? And Brando Sando said he's written his best fight scene for this book. The best scene he's ever written. And, yeah, we have the contest of champions. Szeth on a killing spree on Shinovar, and all that. I think it's going to be the most fast-paced because of all there is to explain. I'm imagining this is going to go like The Hero of Ages, but on a larger scale and more intense and emotional.
@daisydaswani6897 ай бұрын
@@jale346It's also his biggest book to date iirc. We're likely gonna hurt a lot from it as this is the last book in the Second Era before Space Age hits. Cause after this It's Mistborn Era 3 book 1 iirc

@@daisydaswani689 Brandon said he's written 474,001 for the first completed draft, and it's going to be around Oathbringer's length after he goes through his 5 revisions (he finished the third revision a few days ago omg he's so fast). Oathbringer's first completed draft was over a half million words. I think Brandon will make book 5 shorter, at least by a little bit, than Oathbringer. If memory serves, TOR said they would have to split book 5 up if it's longer than Oathbringer. I am really hoping they don't.
