Great stuff ! Caught my largest bass on Mann's Augertail back in the early 80's.

Tip here...listen up. Take a new modern wiggle wart, use clear fingernail polish hardener and brush on several layers on one half side of the bill, build it up, drying between layers. Then, put a suspend dot or 2 on the forward belly. Maybe change the hooks for preference. Take light sandpaper and lightly brush down the clear coat on the bait. You now have a totally different action. You're welcome.

Dude, I think we’d get along famously. 👊🏽😂 Haha a buddy of mine told me about your channel the other day, (because I was showing him some old school gear lol) and I just wanted to tell you that I’ve really enjoyed watching so far. Love the vibe and passion. Awesome idea for a channel, well done. You’ve got a new subscriber, keep it up! 😊 And hey, if you’re ever in Southern California feel free to hit me up and maybe we can do a little collab episode at one of the most retro big bass lakes on the planet which is currently my home lake and one you may have heard of, Castaic Lake. It’s not as loaded as it once was unfortunately, but there are still a few good ones in there. 🎣😎🤙🏽

Jack was an incredible man, and I was lucky enough to call him "Uncle" :) My daddy was his brother-in-law and worked with him in Shreveport (it's also how he met my mama - her and some other gals painted lots of lures in the 80s!) We still have a good deal of Smithwick lures in my parents' garage; I recognize lots of the ones you showed & remember my daddy using them on Tablerock Lake where I grew up. Anyway, thanks for the nostalgia! With both Daddy and Uncle Jack gone now, it's the little things like a box of lures that touch the heart & stir up good memories. ❤

That rebel teeny craw that SPECIFIC size and color has caught me some TANK smallmouth bass and one tank that got away that felt unlike any bass I ever had felt like a pike, and buddy said he saw silver in the water which is common with pike, at the time I'd never caught a like yet but I've caught quite a few now and till this day I'm convinced it was a pike I lost on it seeing as the 2 main fish in the river and area I fish are bait fish, bass, and pike. Great lure. Just got pop r ol bass, gonna give it a go in spring

5he softest hollow body frogs I have are over 50 years old, and the flying lures still catch fish for me. I love pitching the 5inch models under over hanging brush. It works when nothing but shiners will get you a bite. Whenever skipping my 7inch fluke under things don't work I give the ole motor oil looking lure a try and its been good to me. I never even fished with them until last year. I use 30lb braid on a lews speed spool. Thanks for doing these videos.

Retro, those Dalton Specials going for 3-dollars is a buy! At that price, I would get several before my boss lady stopped me.Retro, the bait you could not identify was a Heddon Tadpolly (1st model) and the other bait you could not identify was a Heddon Wounded Minnow. The long bait with props on front and back appears to be a Dillenger. Oh yeah, 25-dollars for the Heddon Prowler in like new condition is a good buy. Many Thanks for showing us your visit.

If that box of Rebel were all Mid Wee R's I would be driving through the night with a fist full of cash to work out a deal on them. For the way I fish its the most perfect crankbait ever made! That box full of Rouge's screams March 1990's Lake Fork. I wore out so many of those baits back then before most were lost to the many submerged stumps on that lake. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

The Earthworm color Cat’ R Crawler is one of my all-time favourite baits for wade fishing stream smallmouth in the summer 😊
@60BloodyChamp6026 күн бұрын
Great video. I never had any luck on the Cat R Crawler or the Hellagramite but they are the coolest lures because they were the first lures made to look like a Hellagramite and a Catalpa worm IIRC. While they weren’t the best lures, they were proof that somebody at Rebel knew what bread and butter fishing to people who fished to eat was all about because live Catalpa worms and Hellagramites, called Gator Fleas, were the secret gold sauce here. People planted Catalpa worm trees and took care of them like they took care of their crops. And they would go snorkeling for Gator Fleas in our clear water river here just to catch them and go to our black water river that is VERY hard to fish sometimes just to load up on bream. It’s live bait or forget it out there sometimes because it’s such tight water that whatever fish are out there ain’t out there because they’re dumb.

One thing. I do not like about Florida, is the do not "waste" law. Other states, will allow you to kill invasive species by just leaving them on the bank.

Great vkdeo from a master, but duh all treble hooks are double hooks with a single welded on, think 95% of fisherman have nkticed that, unless their not mechanially sound!
@bradmanoutdoors29 күн бұрын
Peas are known for just swatting at lures. They are super fast at it and don't fully engulf the lure in their mouth, so you pretty much need to instantly set it at the right moment and trebles are a must. It wasn't the power, it's the timing

AWESOME VIDEO!! I’m sitting at my fishing room workbench looking at fishing videos and ended up here. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ME!!!! One observation: when talking about the Doug Hannon Snakebait, you mentioned that, when cast, it would “track straight”. That was NOT my experience…instead, when reeled slowly across the surface it slithered back and forth just like a snake. It was awesome! The bass in north Mississippi loved them! Thanks again! Jim
