At 11:57 the queen move is an insane blunder. You went from - 4 to 0!!! The move is to attack the pinned knight with the pawn (d7-d5). By moving the queen you undo the pin and white has everyone and their mother attacking the black bishop
@ArcG38 күн бұрын
If White takes the bishop with their knight, Nxd2. Black then plays ...Nc3+! and wins White's queen.

It was great video, I really want to find this, but what should I play, when my oponent will play Nf3 at third move
@Sough2 ай бұрын
The problem is with many systems on youtube, it assumes that white won't play D4 Knight f3 Bishop F4. If we play 2...d5 the setup is gone, if we play 2...c5 play go back into the london, we may be committed to something beyond our typical D4 defense.
@prabhatkiranmukherje3 ай бұрын
I think wasting time on Ne7 and Nb8 when they're awful moves which you're not recommending is really wasting time, especially as someone wants to get to the heart of the content. You can focus on what to do if White deviates, but beyond that it's just a total waste of time to discuss bad moves which you don't recommend and have it take more than half the video before you get to the point. This issue is compounded by a lot of repetitiveness. Being more direct and structured will help you a lot. Also, "3...d5 is the refutation of the Ponziani," no it isn't. The Ponziani is absolutely equal. There's no advantage for anyone. Just a lot of extremely complicated lines where anything can happen.
@ArcG33 ай бұрын
If you want to deeply learn the theory of the Ponziani, it's important to understand why these moves are blunders. You don't have to watch the whole video if you aren't enjoying it or think it is a waste of time.

Good video of a simple and logical anti-London system. Worst that can happen is game transposes to a Benoni or Benko, where white wasted a tempo on useless Bf4.
@RayT703 ай бұрын
Actually, after 1. d4 Nf6 2. Bf4 c5 3. c3 Qb6 White has a dangerous gambit after either 4. Nbd2 or 4. Nf3. This has to be covered before recommending Qb6. I'd rather just play 1. d4 Nf6 2. Bf4 c5 3. c3 e6 4. Nf3 b6 5. e3 Bb7 6. Nbd2 Be7 Black has a dynamic position and doesn't have to trade queens with a symmetrical pawn structure.

21:14 Although it's a Benoni structure, it's actually a well-known theoretical position which usually arises from the Trompowsky attack. Namely 1.d4 Nf6 2.Bg5 c5 3.d5 Qb6 4.Nc3!? Qxb2 5.Bd2 Qb6 6.e4 d6 7.f4.

At 15:38 you turn on the engine and it says that the position is dead even despite the fact that black is down TWO pieces. You go on to say that it's much "nicer" for black to play. I would disagree with that assessment at the amateur level. I'd much rather be white and be UP two pieces because I'll bet that black's "compensation" for being two pieces down is something only a computer could capitalize on. In a game between amateurs, in all likelihood, the player who is UP two pieces would eventually consolidate and then black would slowly start feeling the pain of being two pieces down. You then say that you think "most strong players" would prefer to be black. I'm not sure what you mean by "strong" but if two 1600s were playing that position, I bet that white would win a vast majority of the time.

Very interesting side line but as every youtuber coaching chess does, you also fail to mention the strongest variation for white. After 3.e3 Nd5 4. Bg3 Qb6 white has the move 5. c4! which is a very powerful counterattacking move. if you take Q:b2 white plays 6. cd5! Q:a1 7. Qc2! Your queen is trapped and white has an obvious advantage. Black can try 5... Nf6 and after 6Bd3! the position is maybe playable for black but he has to know a lot of forced variations to avoid getting a lost position. For example, after 6Bd3! black cannot take 6... Q:b2? as after 7. Ne2! Q:a1 8. Qd2! his queen again gets trapped and his position is worse.
@ArcG3 Жыл бұрын
Good analysis! Sorry, I can't go over every single variation otherwise the video would be way too long. While 5. c4 is a very strong move, it's not a very commonly played one. If I went over every possible move, not only would the video would be hours long, it'd also be too hard and not practical to memorize everything.
@Ducksaregreat11 ай бұрын
At first Stockfish thinks it’s -1 after Qxb2, but about 20 move in it turns out to be +0.7-1.0. Black basically gives back a rook but has a strong passed c pawn on c3. It’s very complicated and you’re likely going to win if you have better opening preparation.

I eventually have to get in the C5 pawn move, but good to see how to get it in sooner. I see the London System so often now, it has become annoying. I know if I can make it to 10+ moves, that the opponents will be out of their preparation.
