hi.. how are u finding the turbo now u have it installed for some time? have u any issues or regrets?

It just works. Like other turbos, it uses a little oil so I add a pint between changes.

@@burkeagri718 i got very little out of just adding more fuel as that quickly went into soot out the tailpipe. Obviously needed more air, hence the turbo.

How much boost are you making?

We figure a touch over 3 pounds. You don't want to push it more. I have the fuel flow set to give a slight wisp of smoke on hard acceleration and no smoke the rest of the time.

@@captseabeesvideos6078 why no more than 3lbs? Most diesels can handle a ton of boost!

@@blackz06 We estimated going from 23 to around 31HP which we then guessed 3+ pounds of boost. The fuel pump won't do much more anyways and the stock air intake doesn't allow for too much more air either. Performance is fine up the hill under load so enough was enough. BTW the small Yanmars aren't known for taking too much boost.

what are those rims off? what price was the turbo?

Trailer rims work great. Just match the hole pattern for the bolts and the center hole big enough for the dust cover. Got them from Les Schwab. They only came white with a purple pinstripe so I painted them black. Turbo price is around $2,200 from Acme Outfitters. SCS doesn't sell direct. Install time was around 8 hours (not completely plug and play with the fuel flow being the trickiest given the security sleeve JD puts around it.) GatorForums.net has my review.

All sorts of 5x4.5 trailer rims work on the JDs. If you go aluminum rims you need to get recessed head lug bolts as the stock JDs will ground out on the hex head. Best price is Acme Outfitters.
