Good books. I love the new Camilla Derrico flights of fancy book, but I do think that she has overdone the Bees. I think the married Bees and axe page stands for Battleaxe 😂. I love the Kiwis on the Kiwi fruit page. Happy Colouring.

Ink can’t be used like a watercolor. They are water proof and can’t be moved after you put them down. Enjoyed seeing all your cool things.

Inks can be similar to watercolor in some ways (e.g. lay down, transparency, layering, etc.) It just can’t be reactivated so it doesn’t lift once dried.

@diamondslashranch when wet, they can be moved around like watercolour paint (quality and type of paper give different outcome), but then when dry, you can't reactivate. Similar to if you are using derwent Inktense. Thank you ❤️

India Ink is nice because it’s waterproof. While you can put it on kind of like watercolor, it doesn’t move so you can use water based products on top of it without it washing out. Like an alcohol marker, but it doesn’t bleed through. I might have to pick up that second set, I like those odd colors!

If you just plan to use a bit of acrylic for details the easiest thing is to give it a shake and just use what is inside the cap. No clean up, no waste.

I have preferences for book shape as well, I'm very partial to a square book. I also really dislike standard letter size, but I do buy a few since some of my favorite artists use it.

@lunaluna5231 thank you so much 💕 I find them to be very similar, but the castle arts gold pencils are slightly better quality, in my opinion. I still use both my sets but feel that once my soft touch has finished, I will probably stick with just the gold. Other people may think differently, though 🙂

When I had the Brut squares I used a posca to write the numbers at the end of the pencils the full width of the pencil. It helped tremendously. The numbers are so hard to see on them. You have to use white and black to get them to show on both the light and dark pencils.

@waymire01 I should have changed the numbers to an easier order before I swatched them. Now I'm too lazy to redo it 😂. That is a good idea, though

@@my_colouring_quest You don't have to re-do your swatch.. I just wrote the actual number on the pencil larger and more clearly. I just got tired of squinting at them, turning them back and forth under a lamp to figure out which was which.. especially since the outer case colors are often inaccurate.

I thought the animals you were asking about were Chinchillas.. but could be mistaken. This book was a shock to me because I was having a conversation with Coloring Chemist on her video about the paper in that one book he did on premium.. and literally said he needs to go back to the regular paper... and that we preferred all the other animals in Spring for the variety.. and how he could go all around the world and have mouse meet exotic animals in other countries... and this was the next book. It was almost scary lol.

@waymire01 I find it spooky when things like that happen. I remember colouring a page, and at the end of the month, a group of people had picked that page as well, but I had no idea about that colour along 😅 it was like I was joining in without knowing. Thanks for the animal, I will look it up 🙂

Love it!! Instead of using power direct, you can use DaVinci resolve and its free. It's can do alot more then editing 🙂

You could always say she washed the sheet with a red/pink garment accidentally. Would explain the shadows in the places you didn't like. I personally think it looks great!

@JoyOfStayingIn thank you 😊 When I was doing an alcohol marker base I coloured the sheet with the same markers as what was behind it, then when adding shading with pencils, I used the colours I wanted the sheet to be ( in this case pink and white) but still leaving some of the alcohol marker visible. After that, I went over the black lines with posca pen. Hope that helps.
