When I was a kid, we had two channels on the TV. Cousin Cliff on WAPI and Benny Carle on WBRC. Cousin Cliff had Popeye and Benny Carle had Bugs Bunny. Watched and loved them both but Cousin Cliff was my favorite. Precious memories.

My Father had a close friend that he referred to as "Gentle". I think it was Ed Gentle.

cousin cliff did a show at our school, inglenook elementary,around 1968, some of the local hoodlams decided to show their lack of upbringing by slashing cousin cilffs tires. cousin cliff vowed never to do another show at inglenook again. rightfully so!

Cousin Cliff ruled! I saw him at a birthday party in 2004 at Pizza Hut in Moody. I got my picture made with him. That was a childhood dream come true

It's amazing how the mind of those of us who were born to entertain works. My great grandmother was an actress and was in quite a few movies in Germany and in Argentina. When she developed Alzheimer's she too would thi.g she had to be on set. She would wake every morning at 4:30 am. Sit and my grandmother would do her hair and makeup. She would walk out and my uncle would pick her up in his car open the back door and drive her around the block. She would forget where she was going and always said "You can't drop me off on the back I must give the fans an autograph". It was so sad.

I only found out about Cousin Cliff from the HBO doc Memory Tapes about the stages of Alzheimer's. He looked like he did SO MUCH to make people and children happy and entertained that I couldn't help but be moved to find videos of him here. What a wonderful soul he was! Thanks for uploading this.

Glad I found this, and I'm hoping someone can answer this: Does anyone remember when A&E started in the mid-80's? It was weird; I think when Nickelodeon went off the air for the day, A&E was supposed to kick in, and then sometimes Nick and Night. But frequently Cousin Cliff was airing instead! I was really young at the time, but I definitely remember the weird broadcasting hiccups, and it was definitely on a cale channel. Does this ring a bell for anyone else?
