Nobody ever explains how to access the offline downloads

CalTopo are justly proud of what their optionally free software can do, but this Webinar starts by describing the many bells and whistles in the layer options and it is only 1.00 hours in that it gets to the meat - how to create a trail and print it out. I would strongly suggest that this webinar be redone with the meat first and only then add the bells and whistles.

I'm new to Caltopo and find in looking at a few different tutorials on the net that I don't see the menu items across the top that are shown but instead have flyout/hide menus on either side. Is this user configurable or are the videos showing an older version? Thanks.
