Hi, again, Lakesha. In the .studio3 files I sent you, the score lines are already there in the file. You don't need to add them. This particular file is not on a 12" x 12" mat in the file I sent you because it is too large to cut on a 12" x 12" mat, as this video shows - this is a big box. The Etsy listing also says that you need A3 or Tabloid card, and the long mat. I have created another video showing how to amend the file if you don't have the long mat or larger paper, but this is for Design Space. However, if you are skilled in your Silhouette Studio, you may be able to do something similar. I'm not, I use Design Space and test on Cricut machines. I really do recommend that you always read the full Etsy listing for any of my files before purchasing - I always state what size mat and paper you need to make the project, and that's also discussed in the video linked in the Etsy listing where I show the quantity of paper required. I always aim to give all customers as much information as they could possibly need before purchasing, so they know they're getting a file that works for them.

That's very kind of you, thank you. I always include recommendations for card listing and any other materials you might need for a project on the Etsy listing so if you click in the link on the description, you'll find it there any time. For this project, I used 300gsm for all of it - the construction and the overlays. Then, when it was finished, I sprayed it with a polycrylic spray so it's resistant to marks and can be wiped, if need be.

I cut these boxes from A3 300gsm white card which I printed on a desktop printer, with a digital paper pattern. There are thousands of different designs on Etsy or you can make your own, of course. Search digital papers and clipart on Etsy as a start, or maybe try Canva.

Yes, you could. And you could slice the curved edges from the lid, too, if you wanted a straight edge (or a different shape).

But as you say you've purchased from the Etsy shop now, I think you'll now know from the Etsy listings what kind of card and how much you should use. Recommendations are also given in the PDF of instructions that comes with your files. I try to put as much information about mats and card as I can in the Etsy listing item description so that people have that before they buy. Thank you 😊 This advent calendar is designed for a 12" cutting machine and this copy is taken from the Etsy listing linked in the video description: "Made at the size it comes into Design Space, this SVG makes a double-sided advent calendar in book format which, when closed, measures 180mm wide, 235mm tall and 43mm deep. You can, of course, make it larger or smaller, as you wish. Made at this size, each cavity measures approximately 40mm x 40mm and 20mm deep. It is possible to make this calendar larger (using A3 paper) and, if you do, the cavities could measure up to 46mm x 46mm and 23mm deep." So, as you can see, that's the largest size pocket you could achieve if your machine is also a regular 12" cutting machine. If you have a machine that enables you to cut larger material, then you'd have to see how the file would enlarge in your machine's software. You'd bring the file in, select all, and enlarge until one of the doors was the size you're looking for and then see if you can actually cut everything that size on your machine.

Hi, Holly. Have you had a look at the PDF of instructions that comes with your download? That should help. Also, make sure you're using a good weight of card... if your card isn't strong enough, it might be a bit harder to manipulate the box. For the taller boxes where it migh be harder to reach in, Step 8 of the instructions recommends that you use a ruler or a long dowel or something similar. This project can be made on any cutting machine with a minimum cutting width of 30.5cm/12", including all the Cricut Maker and Explore Air machines. Make sure those dimensions you're working in are in centimetres, not inches (the SVG should just drop on your canvas at 98.6cm wide x 37cm high), and that you're not attaching the whole SVG together, but rather attaching scorelines to individual pieces, as per the video. As the Etsy listing says, you do need the long mat and A3/Tabloid card for this project. If you need any more technical help, please contact me via your order on Etsy and I'll be very happy to help.

Converting cuts to scores is something you have to do with ANY imported SVG - we can't design them so that they come in already as scores. That's the only "work" to do on this file, apart from actually creating your project. Is that what you mean?

All the elements you need to make the box pictured are in this SVG file. You just have the option to cut the outer box in a single piece from large sheet card on the long mat, or in two pieces using the standard mat. The inserts are the same for either option.
