I've got this exact headunit and all the products online say that a bluetooth adapter for the ami port will only work with usb power, but looks like this worked for you without usb power?

Hi, nice install video! Do you know if Spotify or other streaming apps works properly on this? Steering wheel controls, pause/next/fwd, does it show song/playlist info, etc. Thanks!

I’ve used Spotify with it and the song name will display but I haven’t had much success using the skip track and play/pause buttons

Hi followed your installation but when I connect the ami to the wiring loom my head unit just says “initalizing please wait” and never moves from that I recoded the head unit using the OBDeleven any help would be appreciated

Are you using a Bovee adapter? I’ve found that sometimes I need to disconnect and reconnect the Bluetooth connection to get it to work

@@UBSTANKN yes I am I’ll give it a go thanks. It also says initalizing even when I unplug the the ami box for the connector in the glove box

Really? You ramble on, and then when it's time to show us how to pull the plugs on this strange MX5 Mazdaspeed system, and you go to super fast speed with no words, and your head blocks the view of what you're really doing. Another site says we have to remove the coil device over Spark Plug #2, and that requires a 10mm socket. Some say disconnecting the spark plug connectors requires special steps that you don't even mention. I'll have to keep looking.

Yea sorry about the audio. I didn’t realize how low the voice audio was so I tried to compensate but didn’t do a great job

moonrider99 It actually wasn't too bad. I honestly couldn't say if it helped a ton. I replaced the plugs and wires which made a huge difference and some times the car is amazing. At least I have peace of mind knowing it's NOT the problem. Good luck if you do it yourself!

I am thinking of replacing the soft top only on my '04 Speed Miata. I have seat-back roll bars that I guess would have to be removed to make it possible. Did you install the soft top on to the frame, or did it come that way?

I purchased my top gently used already on the frame. It made the installation much easier. If you are going to replace just the top and not the frame, it may be possible to do it without removing the rollbar, but probably far more difficult. In order to remove the top, there is a row of about 10 nuts that have to be undone along the back of the shelf behind the seats. They would be pretty annoying to get at if you had to maneuver around a roll bar. It was bad enough working around the seats. (We could have removed them but decided to save ourselves the time). If you want to unbolt the frame, there are 3 bolts on each side securing the frame. To access them, you have to remove the interior trim panel from that is behind the seats. If your rollbar obstructs this, then it would be necessary to remove it. We removed the sound bar to make things easier. I'm pretty sure that was necessary to get the frame out.
