Thank you! I am owner training my 3rd service dog, he is a 6 month old Standard Poodle. He has a hard time with luring, he doesn't seem to quite get it. We are currently doing intermediate group training classes and the poor trainer tried to get him to wrap for about 5 minutes. My pup LOVES laying down which is great since most of his job will be laying down next to me. Since he loves laying down, he will do it while we are training LMAO. He literally flops or slowly slides down. Poor guy was so confused when she was trying to get him to wrap, he kept trying to crawl but he ended up splooting instead. It was the funniest thing I've ever saw. He has a hard time on all surfaces, even grass. He somehow manages to slide down while on grass or concrete. I've never had such an odd dog before. Training him has been very easy and he picks up fast, luring is a bit tricky since he doesn't know what is going on, he's just happy to be included! In January I am starting college and I will be living in a dorm, he will be coming with me. He learns so quickly, it's amazing! I just wish he would stop sliding down like Bambi, it takes forever for him to get up. It also takes a while for him to eat treats even if they are small. When the trainer is working with him she usually sits down while he is eating his treats because it takes so long. He's a special doggo.

Hey Kevin, thanks for the video, mine will either skip food along the track and almost hesitate to go down on an article, if I practice solely articles at home he knows to down close to it and present, however on the track he will.either skip over it or look as if he's about to down but then just stands. Any suggestions ?

Crazy how I first taught front to be as close as possible and making constancy with the body thinking that was the right way because I would see people on instagram doing it that way 😭😭 I knew something was wrong tho because getting him into other positions from a front that close was more difficult and uncomfortable for him, so I’ve been trying to teach it the right way but he’s still used to getting close up and making eye contact lmfao. Glad I’ve found your videos though they’ve really been helping 🤙🏽

So in one part you say tell them hold when they’re calm and then another you say tell them hold once item is in mouth. Which one is it? Also does it matter if his head drops a little when I remove bottom hand?

Thank you for the information on words to use "close" and for keeping treats in line with the pant seam. I may hold my treat out too far. It's a great tip to get the dog to overturn then they always have plenty of margin for error. I taught my dog to pivot using a box under her front feet. She learned the whole thing within a week. Do you keep the food in your mouth to maintain eye contact?
