A “super yacht” using a damaged line to tow a tender is crazy. I had 6-7 backup lines on a 32 footer.

That SS Delphine: what a theme boat that would be. I can hear the "Gold Room" from "the Shining" now. And all dressed in twenties garb are the only allowed on board.

So what you are trying to say is that the salvage company knows more than YT commenters? WOW, who knew??? ;-) Kudos to the salvage company for standing up for themselves and educating keyboard warriors a bit. What amazes me is that these salvage companies keep getting hired for the jobs, rather than keyboard warriors. That's a great point about the boat being a write off before removal, and not the focus of the operation, or even a consideration of it. I had actually not thought of that. Shame on me, learn something new every day.

If it wasn’t junk prior, it certainly is now….$100k in outboards trashed, these guys are certainly incapable of any type salvage

We explained in the video the motors had already been written off, you don't need to take care of things you are throwing away.

I love the professionalism of the salvage company with sending in a statement and more photos and videos. They totally could have ignored the comments but to explain things and add more detail is good PR.

Look at the poly-tubes and padding on everything. Try setting all that up while waves are kicking your butts. Great job tow company!

Anyone with the balls to salvage a ship from the rocks doesn't live on the level of the comments section. A weak know-it-all needs to keep to himself. Good luck. Thank you, and keep working.

Everyone thinks they know what they’re talking about in comments but, never consider the expertise of the people actually doing the job! The damage to coral reefs and fuel contamination are much bigger issues than some billionaires toy! Kudos Husky Salvage for even trying to educate keyboard warriors! And the Yacht Report for always being an unbiased, honest and excellent source of good information!

Yea many (most) of the "ArmChair Captains" commenting on that video are probably over in videos about the terrible Airplane-Helicopter incident commenting on how the pilots "should have avoided crashing" or how the "ATC should have acted"... Some people are "just blessed like that"... They "just know", never any doubt, reflection or reservations , and all they need are a couple of seconds of video... taken by a mobile phone. I don't know whether to "laugh or cry" when i read their comments.

The boat is already totalled, basically they were 9nly cleaning rubbish off the beach. Maybe someone will still make a boat of it but who knows what is the condition of the hull? Might already be broken, good job getting it off floating where it can then be towed away and be disposed of properly

Was the Delphine renamed USS DAUNTLESS during WW2 and served as Admiral King’s flagship often moored offf of the Naval War College? If so, many world leaders have been aboard this ship. Admiral King ran the American Navy during the war, and was very much responsible for getting the British and particularly Churchill to attack Germany in France as Churchill wanted to prolong the war and expend resources to regain the empire and colonies rather than defeat the Germans.

You had been on Delphine? I'm a little wondering - on one side there are pictures of a steam engine, on the other hand there seem to be a pod steering command at the helm?

@skiingfast114 сағат бұрын
What do people want, for that boat to sit on the rocks forever?
@AlbertHess-xy7ky13 сағат бұрын
No they want the boat saved by bringing in a crane barge at twice the cost of the crashed boats salvage value.
@YachtReport12 сағат бұрын
Weather conditions prevented a crane. And reminder it's not always the boat that is the priority

The British Fire & Rescue Service will not stop a fire within a building if there is no life at risk. They will attempt to stop it spreading where it may effect other premises and in doing so may extinguish the source. Life is more precious than stuff

Thank you for allowing the salvor to have a response in all this. Having spent a number of years working in the offshore construction industry I can say first-hand nothing comes easy in a hostile marine environment. The damage to Reel Wild looks close to terminal. Any indication whether the boat is a write-off or repairable?
