First off, p3dophelia, varian is 14 meaning he is a child and cassandra is 21-14 meaning shes an adult and never was a minor throughout the series, there is no excuses with it, doesnt matter how "small" the age gap is knowing 14-21 is 6 years, its still gross, they were never flirting in the show, its just friendship and varian being varian, cassandra practically had a hatred for him in some parts, its weird that no one understands this.

3:37 you know what breaks my heart? in this scene Jeremy Jordan (Varian) uses "Cassie" instead of just Cass but for some reason the sound engineers found that something was wrong and muted his voice so that in the final version we can hear "Cass" here :'(

First off, the time period the show is set in, is in Germany at the end of the Renaissance Era. In Germany at that time (and maybe even still today), 13 and up is considered being an "adult", and 16 is considered eligible for drinking. The amount of people saying THEY AREN'T ADULTS clearly didn't do their research. By Germany's laws, Varian qualifies as a LEGAL adult.

@ECSongC and its pedophelia now so get used to it, he is now in the days considered a CHILD, and it doesn't excuse the child to adult ship, its nasty eitherway, and drinking doesn't mean they are adults, I did my own research and it says they could drink but weren't considered fully mature, yes it says that they were able to drink alcohol but its not an immediate lane to them being adults, they are still considered children and that rule of theirs back then isn't in the time now, its still gross no matter what and Varian is still a child.
