I have been boycotting riize since the day sm announced seunghan would be going on hiatus back in November 2023. When they announced his return I was so happy and I listened to memories on repeat those 2 days… just 2 days… only to then find out sm had backtracked and forced him out of the group due to parasocial bullying freaks who sent death wreaths. I have never been so disgusted before and since that moment I have been boycotting all of sm groups. It is a personal choice and I’m not saying anyone else has to, but for me the company who could allow this to happen is so evil and malicious that I can no longer give them even a single penny. However I hope everyone boycotts riize, because justice has still not been served with the freaks not punished and also riize must be reunited as 7. If there is a day that they return as 7 then I will support them and the groups I love again. If that day never happens, so be it, I am done with sm. To those wondering about seunghans solo, do you really think they’re going to give him one? I doubt it. It was just a tactic to stop us boycotting. If he does go solo many months from now, I will support seunghan to show sm how much they messed this whole situation up. Bullies should never be allowed to determine an idols future. Lastly, riize is 7 now and forever 🧡

I know this is harder for you as you have a platform, but do not feel bad for wanting to support NCT. Its clear you want to keep collecting them. The korean idol industry was corrupt way before and no company is better than other, so why should you feel guilty for purchasing albums and pcs that make you happy? You clearly don't support SM nor endorse what they're doing, you're here for nct, shinee, etc and that's ok. I just think that people are very freely pointing fingers at sm or hybe collectors, as if starship or jyp were any better. If someone wants to boycott injustices in kpop then they should leave the kpop fandom, maybe even the entire music industry if they don't want to give money to abusers. I hope you are not made to feel bad for loving a kpop group and wanting to collect them.

I was also going to do the full SM boycott when everything with RIIZE first happened, but it does feel to me that it hurts the other artists more than it sends a message to SM so I am not doing the boycott officially. However, I also realized I hate giving SM my money, so I will be very limited and mindful about engaging in official SM content and only buying ults albums new and only one version. Except WayV, I did allow myself both photobooks. Everything else I will buy second hand if I really want it. No streaming, no following social media except the ones the artists themselves seem to curate, ect, ect. I love every chance to see your Victon and Wood collections, it has been a joy watching both of those grew over the years. Sad that Victon is likely to be retired but good to know it will still be there. One of the best things to come out of Woodz and Seungsik's enlistments was their Army collabs, they sounded so beautiful together. 💜

You can always buy sm groups second hand . That's what I'm doing with hype groups.

For me, I won’t be supporting anything Riize in the future for obvious reasons but I will buy that Seunghan album! He is going to need a lot of international support next year. WayV also needs as much support as ppl can give them in this era. Prism center are investing in them and the members seem to be satisfied with the production changes for now. It makes me really happy that they had a busy and successful 2024. Wizard production is ultimately at fault and have to suffer the consequences of their actions for now. Do what gives you peace though!

My partner and i are also boycotting all of SM. As of right now that’s what feels the best for us, it just doesn’t feel best right to support anyone else under the label as of now. I understand everyone else’s perspective on not wanting to do so for everyone else, but for now SM just feels icky to support as a whole for us. We don’t shame or blame anyone else for what they’re doing but we just don’t feel good supporting the company that is behind so much sadness and hurt for anyone.

Jaeyoon is already back :D So next comeback we'll have him but no Dawon, and hopefully Zuho is allowed to participate this time (looking at you FNC). The Taeyong non-album binder is super cute. I love the deco! Only one group surprised me that you downsized (won't spoil it here) but yeah the A5 binders are really good for limiting things to just 4 pocket pages. I always admire people who can downsize groups since I've only been able to do it once. For me I just simply stop collecting moving forward. But that's probably because I'm not a serious collector. I keep who I pull, trade dupes, and trade/buy cards that I REALLY want (with limitations). Also, this is just my take on the whole SM boycott thing. To anyone saying boycotting SM as a whole is useless and stupid, it actually wouldn't be if it was executed properly. Yes, the incident that sparked it was Seunghan and RIIZE but the whole point was to show SM their mistreatment of ALL their artists (not just Seunghan because he wasn't the first and won't be the last) and the disregard of global fan voices when they keep marketing some groups as "global" is really unacceptable (and has been for a long time). So while it may seem like other SM artists have "nothing to do with the issue" they've all been mistreated at some point in some way (some more apparent and obvious than others). However, because a lot of international fans are multis, a boycott of that large of a scale tends to burn out quickly unfortunately whereas keeping the boycott focused on one particular group (RIIZE) would have more of a chance of yielding immediate and visible results. But in the end, everyone can do whatever they want to do. For example, I have seen some people just buying things second hand so that they can still collect but not directly support. It really just depends on your feelings. Taking a break for now and catching up later is also fine!

I feel like people are right to boycott Riize. But other SM groups and artists have been through a lot. WayV and Ten are finally being treated better than dirt by SM and having opportunities, putting their everything into it, and they need support more than ever right now. There are 2 unboxing videos of their album "Frequency" on YT, and one of them are WayV's own. So pls do an unboxing when you get yours, no matter if it's late. It will take a month for me to receive mine, and I love watching WayV unboxings so much.

Funny that this video was just suggested to me now :D I haven’t been collecting for months now and have lost interest overall. I’m currently downsizing and selling all my collections. It’s a bit hard, especially with Taeyong. He’s my ult, but I just don’t have any interest in collecting anymore and am now downsizing almost 200 pcs😅 But it feels really good.

I was laid off last month and am dreading starting the job search in the new year. congrats on the new job and I hope it goes well!!! as for the boycott, ultimately whether or not you’re boycotting in a formal sense, it’s your money to not spend (and “speak with” proverbially) as you wish. idk why people are saying boycotting other SM groups is pointless when actually every single dollar spent on a company DOES help said company. that is just the uncomfortable nature of capitalism. of course that doesn’t mean an informal refusal to buy will make the same change as a formal boycott with demands and expectations will, but it still ensures your money goes to places you find more worthy of it! ALL of that to say, do what feels right to you.

Personally, I feel like the boycott should be focused on Riize. I think it sends more of a message and has more of an impact that way. But obviously it’s a personal decision and if you feel like boycotting all of sm is right for you, then you do that. I think with company wide boycotts they often have less of an impact and become so scattered. In my personal opinion I think people should focus on boycotting Riize rather than sm as a whole.

With the SM boycott, I personally have been boycotting riize but not other groups, if you really hate SM as a whole company that much and don’t want to support them in any way obviously that’s your decision, do what feels right for you, but I don’t think it does anything to help seunghan specifically and send a message that you’re upset about riize if you’re boycotting other SM groups, but obviously you do you

I think boycotting other unrelated sm artists doesn't make sense - it's basically punishing those members and groups who have nothing to do with the issue. Also, the groups are all in different production centers so they are separate in management as well. Obviously do what feels right for you, but a company-wide boycott actually lessens the impact in my opinion because it is too scattered - it becomes weak and fairly meaningless in my eyes. Focus on supporting riize and seunghan instead, that's where people's energy should be
