It’s a titanium flat iron so they pass heat more aggressively than ceramic irons. Titanium will give your hair that sleeky shiny silk press look but you’re right, it does lead to heat damage more quickly!

I do clip ins, I do my own quick weaves, & switch up from curly to straight whenever I feel I need change lol. I cannot commit to wigs.

Listen…..i started the process of maintaining a silk press exclusively…turns out my hair would prob be wavy and look like a relaxer after 10 consecutive silk presses…i contemplate making the change daily lol. Swapping back between curly and straight the mental gymnastics is becoming exhausting lol. 😊

I feel like I’m in a similar phase 😂 I like trying to maintain my silk presses for as long as i can until it’s time to wash my hair and then I just do another silk press… it’s just soooo much easier to maintain

@@LatriceM i have a few “natural” styles that are working friendly that last a week or two and don’t damage my hair…but box braids, wash n gos, twist outs have officially been deaded. I’ve only had hair to my ass once in my life and it was when i flat ironed it every 10-14 days so i guess that’s the only way my hair gonna grow down my back lol.

That’s so crazy because I’ve heard a few people say that their hair grows more when they keep it straight as oppose to wearing it naturally. And I agree with you on box braids and wash and gos lol I’m so over it!

BIG QUESTION. Does this hair have an odor when its wet? i have ordered other straighter textures from them like the blown out kinky one and the yaki and those were of course fine but not the kinkier textures. Im worried because i ordered from a different company (Hergivenhair) and it smelled AWFUL when i got a curlier texture no matter how much i washed it.... I havent had such exeperience with Betterlength, but I just wanted to check because kinkier textures in general often have that strong chemical smell and idk if i can deal with it lmao 😭 Also, when you washed it, did it revert back well? I know you said you probably wont ever wear them curly again but i was curious.

It didn’t have a strong odor as far as I can remember, especially when it was wet. I did was the clip ins and they reverted back to the original texture without any heat damage!

You can only use it on high heat to get smooth results and the hot plates is just like straightening your hair and it caused me some heat damage even using a leave in and heat protection. Your hair will start to feel different too a weird texture
