have always done something similar with a cheap android tablet I got free with my data plan. I stuck with it because it's so cheap that I don't care what extreme weather does to it and I can leave it in the car, but its been going strong for almost 4 years in 100+ and -30 degrees F. You definitely took the automation and mounting solution to the next level though!

in some countries you will get a fine whe you cover your visibilty through the window on the near front of your car. Good to see with the bike crossing the scene. In the middle of the car front you see only the upper body. may a small child is complete hidden there.
