You got it wrong. There is two in existence. One, yes, was produced and sold to a buyer. But it wasn't made of spare parts. That was the second one, not officially factory produced.
@ExecutiveAutomotiveSociety22 сағат бұрын
@@parrotcraft7503what your saying is common confusion. W112 BHG was the car that had the original engine, the Wheeler car, but he didn’t have the original street car because it was scrapped for the race car, so they had to rebuild a race car for the street to sell it. W312 BFV has an Aston engine and is an original race chassis, but isn’t part of this story presented here. There’s also an orange and blue car which also use the Aston engine, but I know very little about them. Since the original story, let’s just say a lot has changed. I’m focused only on W112 story because I don’t know all the details on the other cars, but I mistakenly put in images of the other cars which confused TVR fans and that was the mistake on my part. Still the lingo is accurate. Wheeler said the car was too powerful, scrapped the street car, and rebuilt a race car using spare parts to complete a street car that he lotteried off to one pre-approved winner and is now in a museum. Also look up Helical that used the W112 as their mold. So if you like Speed 12 Cerberus there’s great news for the future, but the car do look different than the original.

Why would they ever become illegal? The reason why other brands decided to scrap it is that a manual is more expensive to produce with less people knowing how to drive them.
@ExecutiveAutomotiveSociety5 күн бұрын
Actually it was demand. Only about 2.5% of the population is looking for a manual, but you may be shocked to know that 55% of the population can drive a manual. The reason they would become illegal is because legislation has been introduced to make them illegal... on multiple occasions. Of course you should already know that by 2027 gas laws will remove anything gas and by 2035 most governments and about 8 US states are banning gas in new cars. Then California introduced the option to destroy old cars that run on gas because they are even worse pollution emitters. That's the short of it.

@ExecutiveAutomotiveSociety5 күн бұрын
What's so strange about being loyal to a brand? I guess I shouldn't be shocked in an era that doesn't even know what the world "loyal" means. I also find it funny that it's always "arguing which is better" even when people argue that "consumer choice" is the ONLY option. It seems to me that the only people arguing are EV folks. Everyone else knows the answer pretty clearly.
@WhatTF-o8n5 күн бұрын
@ExecutiveAutomotiveSociety being loyal to a corporation is strange, no need to "kids these days" it. "Consumer choice" isn't going to be determined by a $300,000+ supercar and the fact that you haven't seen anyone arguing against electric cars can easily be attributed to confirmation bias. There is a heated, weird debate and I don't see nearly as much from the EV fans. I myself am not a "fan" of either, but EVs have the potential and are in their infancy and I think it is very "simpsons" style "old man yells at clouds" to argue against them. There are few feelings like driving a supercharged v8 and not being able to see half the road because of the blower, but there's also something else about the feeling of an electric car making you feel like you're being born again through a garden hose. I love the old stuff and I think EVs have serious potential. Especially at the rate that technology is progressing. It's just weird to argue about it for anyone. It's a car. Love what you love and don't get bothered that someone else wants to drive something you don't. That was my main point.
@ExecutiveAutomotiveSociety4 күн бұрын
@@WhatTF-o8n that whole rant was weird. I guess my over 30+ years in the car business made me understand you're not connected to the real car world where the money is made. 80 to 90% of everything I see is arguing against electric cars. Anyone that matters is pushing back. Anyone actually in the industry, CEOs have even said it! So if you're not seeing it maybe you should get out from under that rock and pay attention. I mean the statement about a blower in the way. This isn't 1965, how out of touch is that! Good luck with being born out of a garden hose. I also don't get bothered by what anyone drives. Hell, if you want to drive a bicycle or ride a horse, go for it!!! Here's my input. Consumer Choice. If the consumer wants gas then let them have it. If you think EV is the future then by all means, take away the EPA mandates and the banning and let's see where we are in 6 months, but you won't because you know I'm right and that's why they're doing what they're doing. Just put your money where your mouth is if I'm just some old coot yelling at the clouds.

Exaggerating those well beyond the truth will get you some clicks from "always EV haters" but, it will likely get many more three-dot clicks, "Don't recommend Channel" from anyone that has done enough research to know you are using typical media extremism tactics. Most people want the whole truth about electric cars to make good decisions about what direction to take in their 2nd most expensive purchase of their life.
@ExecutiveAutomotiveSociety7 күн бұрын
Are you kidding? The cult will down vote anything that doesn't fit their narrative, even when it is accurate. I see so many people make statements that mean they didn't even view the video. Nothing I've seen helps people make "good decisions." They're lied to about range, about battery life, about insurance costs, about upkeep costs, then told it's "environmental" when in reality it uses the same power grid that uses coal. Covered up bad EV credits by the EPA. Do they listen to reason? Nope, it's echo chamber all the way, so get off your high horse. 20 years ago you'd be telling me how evil the car companies were and now it's, "they're the greatest people" because they do what you want them to do. All I want and I made it clear in the video, is consumer choice. You know, something everyone was into in 2003 when EVs were first gaining traction due to propped up government funds. I don't think that's so much to ask.

@runeaanderaa68408 күн бұрын
Extremely much rubbish in this video. Most EV batteries are guaranteed for 5-8 years. It is very likely that they will last a lot longer than this. A bad battery can be exhanged for a used battery from a wrecked car. This will be a fraction of the cost. Other surveys show that more than 90% will buy EVs again. Sure, the depreciation is high because the EVs are getting better. That is the point. They are getting better, so the future is electric.
@ExecutiveAutomotiveSociety7 күн бұрын
A battery from a wrecked car? See, this is the problems that we'll deal with in the future. One punctured battery from a wrecked vehicle in a car park and suddenly the entire building is gone and hundreds of lives lost. You can quote all the "bad surveys" you want, but I'm not seeing this wide adoption you speak off, I see them quoting "how many are made." No, they're depreciating because they're disposable. How much would you pay for used IPhone that's running at 40% efficiency? How about a used computer? It'll be a tenth of what you bought it for because the refurbish is intensive. They aren't better either. Same motors, same weight, same tires. They aren't getting better because they can't improve. It's electricity, it doesn't work like that and if they're treated like computer they'll constantly improve and never be worth anything when you trade them in. This isn't new information btw. You know why the future is electric? Because the government is paying for it and forcing it. If you're SO sure that the future is electric then tell the government the lift the bans and lets see what rises to the top. I'm okay with that. It's what I'm fighting for. You don't want choice because choice will result in a return to form and you know it.
@runeaanderaa68407 күн бұрын
@ExecutiveAutomotiveSociety You can pick any number you want from statistics. New cars are overrepresented in insurance claimes because people want to keep them new. Therefore, one can't compare EVs to ICE cars because the average ICE car is 3-5 times older than the average EV. If one damages a 15-year-old ICE car for 5000 dollars, one will not even bother to fix it. One will fix a 2-year-old car, no matter if it is an EV or an ICE car. And it is much easier to get used parts for old cars that will make repairs much cheaper. If one compares 2-year-old EVs to 2-year-old ICE cars, the numbers are not that different. I have a 12-year-old EV, and I know I can get loads of cheap, used parts for it, including the battery. All statistics show that EVs burn far less often than ICE cars, and the chance of dying in an EV is far less. I have heard that by law in America, EVs need to retain at least 80% of the range after 8 years. And when it comes to choice, do you think people have chosen to drive unpractical, inefficient, and expensive trucks? They do so because this is what commercials tell them to do. If you were to choose between paying a certain amount to drive your car or to pay 1/3rd of that, I am pretty sure you would choose to pay 1/3rd. So buy an EV then.
