THANK YOU!! There are many creatives on the right side of the spectrum, but everyone is just caught up in the culture war aspect they forget to *make* the culture. It's a uphill battle - Try getting a grant for film without being an obese black lesbian for example, but if we spent more time collaborating to creating parallel economy structures instead of complaining we'd have better infrastructure to fuel a right-sided (or more even) indie boom. Comics-gate: Instead of making these massive fully colored 80+ page affairs that never get finished on time, why not go for small-scale pulps? Anime is huge and that's it's format. 17 page chapters collected in an anthology magazine with terrible paper quality, But it gets things done. Grummz could stop tweeting and finish his game within a year or 2 if he wanted to do it solo, or with a small team since he has the money for it. Grummz could use his platform to help fuel a young developer initiative. Something? ANYTHING! I put my money where my mouth is, BTW. Own an animation studio, and despite not being anywhere close to the biggest kid on the block, we still find ways to host internships and give back to the art community reasonably. Its time people step up.

There's a story that I heard where Ray Bradbury was invited to a college to give a lecture on Fahrenheit 451, and one of the first questions he got was something along the lines of 'So, why did you write a story about nazis?' and he responded, "It's not," and walked out.

Kirby just defeated his universe's god of destruction. He killed an immortal. This is canon. Goku isn't even near that power. In the battle of the gods, he needed the help of 7 other saiyans to even come CLOSE to beating Beerus. Kirby could defeat Goku with a finger flick.... if he had fingers....

I only started watching Nick Rekieta when the entire Vic Mignogna slander campaign started. More than anything, I believe the recent years have been strong years for lawyers on KZbin, as week after week there has been a new crazy drama unfolding that's bordering on the downright illegal side of things, something lawyers can milk the shit out of. The only downside is that once you really dissect what people like Nick do, you begin to realize they lack the knowledge and experience to really talk about the broader subjects they're covering. I cared for Vic Mignogna and I cared to hear what a licensed professional thinks about the case - I didn't care about what Nick thinks as a person. And that's just kinda how I stopped watching him when the Vic drama ended, because other than going "Based, Vic is right, we stan Vic in this house", Nick really didn't... matter at all as a person to the subject. A talking sock puppet could've replaced him and I would've watched it covering the story. I can't imagine how empty that has to feel like for someone like Nick. Knowing your audience is basically unorganically cultivated from drama, not because of who you are. He did it with Vic, he did it with Johnny Depp and he would've continued doing it if he didn't spiral out of control.

So y’all just gunna skip over the fact that due to trauma he sought power and control over everyone else? His solution to someone else taking his desire and power was to take the desire and power from others. So let’s break it down 1. Desire for Power: Magnifico exhibits a strong hunger for power and control, which (in the world of what we perceive as good and evil) is a hallmark of many villains. His motivations are often rooted in a desire to dominate others and impose his will. This quest for power can make him a formidable opponent, as he seeks to achieve his goals at any cost, including the well-being of others. 2. Manipulation and Deception: As a villain, Magnifico often uses manipulation and deception to achieve his objectives. He is likely to employ cunning tactics to mislead other characters, portraying himself in a favorable light while hiding his true intentions. This ability to deceive adds depth to his character and makes him less straightforward than a typical “bad guy.” 3. Contrast to Protagonists: Magnifico’s character serves as a foil to the protagonists of the story. His morally ambiguous actions highlight the virtues of the heroes, emphasizing themes of good versus evil, light versus darkness, and hope versus despair. This contrast is essential in reinforcing the narrative arc and ethical dilemmas that the protagonists must navigate. 4. Lack of Empathy: A significant trait of a villain is often a lack of empathy or understanding of others’ feelings. Magnifico may disregard the harm he causes to others, focusing solely on what he stands to gain. This lack of compassion makes him more relatable as an antagonist, as audiences often dislike characters who hurt others for selfish reasons. 5. Obsession with Fame or Legacy: Magnifico may embody traits of vanity or obsession with fame, wanting to be admired and feared. His fixation on external validation can drive him to enact villainous plans, leading to conflict with protagonists who may value honesty, kindness, and community over personal glory. 6. Symbol of Oppression or Tyranny: In many narratives, villains represent larger societal issues, such as oppression or tyranny. Magnifico may symbolize a force that stifles creativity, freedom, or happiness in the world the protagonists inhabit. This makes his defeat not just a personal victory but a triumph over broader systemic problems. 7. Thematic Elements: The character of Magnifico may also embody specific thematic elements of the film, such as the dangers of ambition, the consequences of unchecked power, or the importance of humility. His actions may serve as cautionary tales that contribute to the film's moral or message. Id also like to point out that there are many children born into the system he created, that didn’t have a choice in the matter. I think it’s a good representation of the American dream, come here and you will be safe and free 😂 And what did he do the second things didn’t go his way, exactly what the ones who destroyed his life did, use the power he gained to destroy the hopes dreams and lives of others. I personally think Disney do a fantastic job of highlighting actual human behaviour People step all over each other to gain power, and don’t even use it correctly when they get it. It shows exact what most humans do with that power 🤷🏽♀️

It feels like Kishimoto just wanted to write his own Dragonball, being a big fan of the series himself. Since One Piece was already "Dragonball but with pirates", he picked "Dragonball but with ninjas". The ninja theme feels like it may have been genuine at first, but eventually it becomes just a way of rebranding Dragonball. Because you only see fantasy ninja fights in the first arc, not much afterward.

I hear what you're saying, but also, Grummz is the only one who loses in this scenario if you're right. I really think Grummz is trying to create a game, but is too lazy to finish it. It's so much easier to just pump out culture war content. And it's addictive-- easy validation. Grummz does have game dev chops, but if he keeps up with this political nonsense, he'll only lose in the end as he realizes he's become too old to accomplish his dreams.

All your points are valid, but I will push back on the idea that no one on the right is making culture. Rippaverse love them or hate them are putting out comics on a regular basis, and critical drinker is making movies. The amount of legitimate people might be small, but they do exist.

@@TheDragonsTreasureTBH, I paused to make my comment just before you said that. @Cadcomputers yeah, because most "content creators" on youtube are money sucking grifters who only care about their bottom line, that's why they don't look at comments lol. I mean that I and many others had in fact spoken to him privately. This video wasn't a back stab, I actually risked severely damaging my business cause I might have pissed off a large portion of my fanbase. But the message of the video wasn't "you suck," it was "you need help." This was all pre arrest and pre daughter testing positive for coke. From that point and every vile insult he's hurled towards me and everyone else who said he needed help, it became too much. After a certain point, it is I who becomes the fool, the bad person, for defending someone. And he crossed thatg line. As a reminder, before that vid, I defended them from all swinging and drug allegations.

FWIW - there are creators out there. Alex Macris of Autarch has - despite being repeatedly canceled and even mentioning him being banned in game-related fora- successfully released the second edition of his Adventurer Conquerer King system, a more cohesive rewrite of the BX rules with systems baked in to take you all the way up to running kingdoms and mass combat, one step at a time. Seriously - you should check it out. Jeffro Johnson not only wrote a book reviewing appendix N from the AD&D dmg, but turned it into an analysis of an entire swath of fiction that's been excised out of the culture, published by Castalia. He then started playing AD&D by the rules as written, and started a whole "BROSR" style of play that takes those rules and incorporates domain play and Braunsteins. Many of these lessons are in another book by Pilum Press called "How to Win at D&D" Razorfist not only does commentary but has delivered on several books and a western graphic novel. Castalia has published a number of more right-wing authors, and for the last year or two has been publishing leatherbound editions of classics. There is an indy writer scene that lost steam since the SFWA controversy/puppy days, but is still cranking out books. Alexander Hellene comes to mind. There are also indy publishers, many who can be found on Substack. Alex is one. Alexandru Constantin has made a number of recommendations of current works by various independent authors. Pilum press has published several anthologies including new stories by sword-and-sorcery author Schuyler Hernstrom, and two novels set in Dallas/Fort Worth in the 70's that are an object lesson on why not to play with magic. None of these guys are in it to "beat the libs" - they just want to create.
@kessler4o57316 күн бұрын
I agree with many of the points you make. However, you have a very binary vision of politics here. I don't care about whether, say Dragon Age the veilguard is left or right leaning, but moreso that the politics behind it (Hiring process, work ethic and how such people write stories) have absolutely had an impact in that game's quality. That is the key issue with that game aswell as others like it, and shows, movies and what have you. Having right leaning media may help balance the scales, or it may drive more moderate people to hate the different mediums even more, as they may feel rejected by both sides. Then you have games like astro bot. There are no politics in that game, nor could i even begin to guess what the politics behind the developers of that game are. That is because it's neutral. You may say it is not a western game, but the point is that it is not preachy by any stretch of the imagination. I think that the problem with the culture war is specifically tribalism. Activists will be activists, but i think it is important to see the issues regardless of what politics the activists espouse. Nick Rekieta's downfall exemplifies this. He has been exposed as a grifter and a terrible person, but not many on the anti woke culture commentary sphere have so much as touched on this. They simply silently distanced themselves. Meanwhile many lawtubers have covered his downfall and taken him down quite a few notches and deservedly so, despite their previous relationship with Nick. Now imagine if Nick had been pretending to be a woke lefty guy? You would not hear the end of it on the anti woke commentary channels that would make fun of him. It's really dishonest. I wished they stopped raising people up that are clearly grifting and don't deserve the attention. At any rate, thank you for bringing this up. I found you through legal mindset and i did not know this about grummz. Let's hope Andrew doesn't fall down the same path. After seeing how many people have fallen from grace on this platform i kinda expect it at this point.

You can't even be rightwing and work for big publishers, not outspoken. You could hide it. One rightwing dude not getting his project done isn't a good example for "the right doesn't produce games". Its much harder to do that. In these days even Mods get canceled if they are antiwoke.
@currywurst243418 күн бұрын
The left creates.... you could say they destroy with putting their propaganda in every studio, and taking over normal teams with their DEI structure and help from billionaires and the states/government. Don't see the leftists make anything better in those studios, everything gets worse. They censor stuff that is against their belief and hard promote their stuff on everyone. It has to be criticized, if its Grummz or someone else. Games is just a sideshow though, its everywhere. The people demanding diverse games are the people making my country diverse, aka colonize it to other cultures. Its funny, its the same people that invented "postcolonialism" that promote massmigration an cultural change, as long as its against white western culture.
@currywurst243418 күн бұрын
Well leftists started this war and they overtook most media in the west, not just videogames in a slow long process. Well, the problem is real and its not only in games. Yes they earn money with it and yes overdo it sometimes, but the problem is real and big. Diversity is asked from the same people that flood us with migrants in real life in my country (against the will of majority in every existing poll) and make light of criminality, rapes and grouprapes, knifecrimes and cultural changes while shitting on the autochtone white people trying to silence criticism, even criminalize it. Some things remind of socialism. That woke shit is everywhere and has plenty fields. Was a long process over tens of years, but leftist have taken over media and civic state, finance NGOS and heve their people in courts. As for games, the few antiwokegames are ander massive attack, like The Last Night was, which had a really interesting theme.
