Mod Podge may work but it also might not be strong enough to hold the glitter. It’s also see through which will make it so that the glitter doesn’t cover the area as well as if you apply it using a colored paint/ glue. Acrylic paint is a coming thing people use to apply glitter!

Im trying to make shipping labels. Starting up a home business. Do I just need name and address on it or is there more to it like bar codes? If so, where can I find/make the barcodes

I always add color after beads have been scented. I’ll put a smaller amount into these jars and then color that amount. I like having more color options vs coloring everything in that scent one color.

@@retailbyhales375 Oh, nice! You have a strong red color! The "True Red" from Mad Micas looks more like a coral or a salmon color in the powder form. It looks deep red after mixing it in a medium like soup base, but it still looks a little pink when merely adding the powder to aroma beads. Maybe it is because their pigments are cosmetic grades? Regardless, I will need to check out your red!

People usually sell them for $10-$16 each. It really depends on your market and where you live. As long as you’re buying supplies in bulk, you can definitely make a profit off them!

How do you get the paint to cure? I use acrylic paint & it stays tacky no matter if I leave it out to dry for a week or more. I appreciate your advice.

I haven’t had tacky acrylic paint but sometimes my paint pens are. Some scents react different than others and if you live in a humid place that could cause it to be tackier. Maybe setting it out in the sun or putting a gentle fan on it could help.

Hi I have been making card stock freshies but I’ve been having problems with some of them where the beads will melt over the card stock and when I take them out the card stock has melted beads on them and uneven. Are you able to give me tips? Thank you 😊

It’s because your cardstock isn’t laying flat when you pour beads over it. I use my fingers to hold it flat while pouring the beads in and I also make sure my cardstock is as flat as possible when I made it. Sometimes you have to bend it a little in the opposite direction to get the curve out.

Why does a freshie change color from what it originally was. Like blue changed to green and white changed to yellow. This is with cherry leather and it never changed like it did this time around for me before.

Certain fragrance oils change color when exposed to the sun. Leather is one of those- it yellows.

No, I never noticed an impact on the food that we ate. They will definitely make your house smell like whatever scent you’re baking though!

It’s usually just preference for me! I love chunky glitter mixes so a lot of times I’ll match my ombré to the glitter than I’m using which helps me pick colors. Men’s freshies I usually do different colors vs women’s freshies.

Love your painting technique...makes it faster to get the painting part done. I have a question about baking the freshies (although it may be a silly question). Are the freshies supposed to be bendy and flexible or hard when they are done?

Never a silly question. They’re flexible when warm but when they cool they’re pretty solid. They’ll have a little bend but not much.

Yes, that can happen. You may want to use Apple Barrel Matte paint instead. Sometimes certain scents won't dry as well with the paint pens or if you live in a higher humidity area the paint pens may be a bit tacky. @@aleciadixon8747

The tackiness may also happen if your beads weren't fully dry before baking them. I tried a different brand of beads out and some of my scents wouldn't fully dry with those beads, so then all of my details were tacky. @@aleciadixon8747

I hope it works better for you! I prefer paint pens and use those on most of my freshies but I know a lot of makers have issues with those becoming sticky so I think it really depends on where you live. The acrylics paints are a lot of work in my opinion 😂

Wow probably the simplest way I’ve seen this done! How long do you recommend waiting for paint to dry? Is it bad to leave freshie left out for a long period of time? Will it effect the scent?

A few days is fine because your house isn’t crazy hot allowing the scent to evaporate. I try to get them bagged within a day or so.

Bought a K Comer Thermal, cheap and its amazing for the shipping labels or anything 4x6, their home site will not let anyone regisiter to use their "maker" software, after weeks of trying and wasted labels , this WORKED GREAT , cant thank you enough. seems the trick is to save it as a pic/png/jpg file then size it and print . thanks again !!

Some people will spray unscented hairspray over the top to help with any stickiness. If your beads aren’t fully dry then they will also stick more, or if you live in a place that is really humid.
