They are four stereo sub-busses that you can assign any channel to. Great for monitor mixes or sub-group routing for drums, etc. They have outputs on the rear of the unit.

@@WhyTheHorseface Yes, the routing options are almost unlimited. This is great for live mixing situations as well as in the studio.

@@stephenmargolies6262 can you explain some situations where you could use “bus routing” (I’m not sure if that a real term)? I can think of headphone/monitor mixes, drum set… what else? I’m just learning, thanks for sharing your knowledge!

You can download the manual from Tascam's site. If you look at the diagram on page 74 of the manual, it shows the SD and USB return entering the chain before the insert point on channels 1-12. The block diagram isn't as clear. I haven't tried that yet.

@@stephenmargolies6262 Thanks for the reply. Indeed, on the block diagram the insert point seems to come after the input switch. I checked the Model 12 manual too and there the insert point comes right after the mic line input. That's great, I'll probably get the 2400. Are you happy with yours?

@@montecoucou53 Absolutely! Being able to go dawless allows me to concentrate on making music instead of a monitor screen. I can still go there if I want to do some tweaking or mastering, but overall, for my needs, this unit is a beast. I have great flexibility with Input and output options and multiple stereo out busses. The compressors, EQ and effects are very good and the master compressor and EQ feature is a great addition. Coming from the 70's with 2" tape, I was an early user of TEAC/Tascam products starting with an A3340S and still use a DP24 Portastudio for smaller projects.

Getting one this weekend. Having the insert after the USB / SD was the seal to the deal. My 500 racks have never been happier. Endless routing options with sub outs / aux outs, inserts and main out insert. THIS is the board I've been waiting for!

Hello! Which version on the CA-XLR2d were you using? I'm assuming you used the included cable to port sound from the interface to the camera? Were you using the Manual Mode input gain setting? Lastly, what microphone was being used?

@@TASCAMUSA TASCAM CA-XLR2d-AN XLR Microphone Adapter Kit for Cameras (3.5mm Analog). Yes, I used the included cable to port sound from the interface to the camera. Channel One was used as AUTO, and Channel Two was in Manuel. Lastly, I used the same mic I used with the Canon C200 and C100 MII, the Sennheiser MKE 600 Shotgun Microphone.

@@ww1www yes. Although I’m one the Atomos Timecode system and it’s been rock solid minus QR scanning the go pros via the app.

I have an Ultrasync Blue (got one on ebay) , but not the Ultrasync One yet (a bit too expensive for my hobby use). The Blue works fine with my F2, F3 and X8, but I also have regular timecode out from the Wireless Pro, and also have TC in/out the F8n Zoom F8n Pro.

I would like it to be a choice between 4 XLR IN and 2 XLR IN + 2 XLR OUT….But then you might need 2 Neutrik Switch XLRs or 2 adapters.

Even though it’s 32-bit audio, can you still adjust the gain on this device?
