As for the upload issue: If an "X" is displayed in the upper right corner of the Index Smart Scale after the the upload arrows scroll across the screen, this indicates that there was an error uploading the data to Garmin Connect. Ensure that the scale has a solid WiFi icon without an "X" next to. If no "X" is present next to the WiFi icon, step on the scale in and try uploading once more. If there is an "X" beside the WiFi icon, ensure that Index Smart Scale is in range of the paired WiFi network and try again. If a WiFi network needs to be added to the Index Smart Scale refer to www.garminconnect.com/indexscale for instructions on adding the scale to a WiFi network. If an “X” is displayed in the middle of the screen on the Index Smart Scale after a successful upload, this indicates that not all body composition data was measured/uploaded. Try these tips: Stand with your feet placed flat on the glass surface of the scale and do not contact the screen or the Garmin logo Verify the surface of the scale is dry before use Do not wear socks or shoes Use the device under the same circumstances and at approximately the same time of day each time you use the device Garmin recommends waiting two hours before using the device after eating, drinking, exercising, bathing, or visiting a sauna Thank you for choosing Garmin, Michael Product Support - Fitness Team Subsequent Email sent 18.2.18 Firstly thank you for the advice but I am using the scales correctly and there is nothing wrong with my wifi connection. Incidentally the X does not appear next to the wifi icon as you describe, they are at opposite ends of the screen. See attached photos. The the top bar of the wifi icon flashes - an X appears on the right. Yesterday I had to stand on the scales ten times before they finally uploaded. Today the same. I have only been using the scales for two weeks and not had a single day without issues. They are clearly faulty and I want a refund. There is no point replacing the scales because you can't get the software to work. This morning they are telling me my body fat has dropped from 23.5% to 14.3 % and by water has gone up ten percent overnight but my BMI and weight has hardly changed. I do not have the time to stand on the scales ten times every morning, each time waiting for the screen to clear before I can try again. I also do not have the time to 'work with you' I want a product that works out of the box. I was rather hoping for a response from one of the management team [[email protected]] [[email protected]] that are copied into this email. Please direct my complaint to somebody who can arrange a refund for this faulty device and software.
