Does America do separate bins for recycling and regular garbage? In Australia we put paper/glass in separate bins to be sent to recycling plants. I so often see Americans using paper plates, something rarely done in Aus unless its an outdoor event or at a childrens party etc. and i cant help but think its such a huge waste of paper & such an unnecessary addition to landfill. Pretty unrelated but just something I think about when I see paper plates instead of just reusing plastic/ceramic.
