Quite often it's easy to miss the sign as you enter a road. If there's a large vehicle in front of you or if it's covered by a bush you just may not see it.

I dont actually agree that looking between the door pillar and rear side is safest. Because the pillar is in your way. Lean forward and look around the pillar OVER your shoulder. You cant see out of ears!! 😂

You need to make effective observations on manoeuvres but this video is about pulling away at the side of the road.

Rule 163 of the Highway Code refers to non-motorways and it states “only overtake on the left if the vehicle in front is signalling to turn right, and there is room to do so, stay in your lane if traffic is moving slowly in queues, if the queue on your right is moving more slowly than you are, you may pass on the left”, rule 268 of the Highway Code refers to motorways and it states “Do not overtake on the left or move to a lane on your left to overtake, in congested conditions, where adjacent lanes of traffic are moving at similar speeds, traffic in left-hand lanes may sometimes be moving faster than traffic to the right, in these conditions you may keep up with the traffic in your lane even if this means passing traffic in the lane to your right, do not weave in and out of lanes to overtake.”

I do this on a day to day basis and implore all instructors to practice it every day, I got an A on my last SC and it works really well once you're used to doing it, and the pupil understands how it works from their week to week lessons as well, so it makes it easier overall, not just for the SC

Would it be helpful to offer a demonstration drive when it comes to judgement and awareness making it into a game for them to be instructor and get them for example tell you if you should go or not based on what their judgement is but as the instructor if safe or at least keeping it safe actually carry out what they say and evaluate after whether it was the right thing to do?

To change from an outer to an inner and overtake or pass r undertake is mot illegal. It's a DO NOT rule and not a MUST NOT law. Whether a car in lane 2 indicates to turn right or not you can undertake it. A street doesn't have to be a one way. You can undertake on any street if it has 2 or more lanes on your side of the road.
@WayneTulip-zm9gw5 ай бұрын
You can only undertake if they’re signalling to turn right, on a one-way street, in slow-moving congested conditions or if lane 2 is stationary and therefore considered a queue.
@MrJohnny3shoes5 ай бұрын
@@WayneTulip-zm9gw You can undertake on a one way street but you cannot on one side of a dual carriageway or motorway? Why is that so? When they're signalling to turn right That means on one side of a road that only has one lane and the car in front is indicating to turn right and there's room to pass on inside safely. What speed defines congested traffic on a motorway?

Hi I did my Part 1 test a couple of days ago. One of the questions was the distance a driving instructor needs to be able to read a number plate. Everything I have studied told me it was 26.5 Metres yet this was not one of the anwsers? The nearest option was 27.5M which I selected but I do not know if it was the correct answer. I failed the test by 1 mark!

If we memorize something through repetition once we have understood the concept in order to accelerate the learning process then will this be called rote? We need to almost repeat everything to learn and achieve mastery in all kinds of field so will this be called rote? Waiting for your reply!
