WOW, Doug... Judy Charest's husband, Mike, sent this to me.... I assume you know that Judy passed away in her sleep several months ago. I miss her every minute. We were "Newbury Sisters", but she KNEW him, up close and personal and the way you wrote this and sang it sounds like you did... Love this.

Yet another glitch in my life without Peter.. I have his photo smiling away on the monitor and sit and talk to him. That's nice but I need some music. What can I do Maestro?

Great song, but listen to others such as Shadows on a Dime. From here you'll go to performances make Ferron great, though so many haven't got
@paganmaestro

With Ferron, it's worthwhile to hear everything and to learn her story, the better to embrace her and her music's journey. When I was without a home in 1979, she let me stay at her place until I found a place of my own. That moves me to this day. Testimony was the album she'd just released at that time. We used to drive around in her old Volvo delivering boxes of that LP to Vancouver record stores. The songs on Testimony are survivors, like Ferron. Shadows On A Dime has some powerful songs. That was a challenging period, not without its scars. I saw Ferron this past summer with her band at the Vancouver Folk Music Festival in Jericho Beach Park, 38 years after we'd performed there together. She was magnificent. We danced. We cried. We were lifted up. Ferron still has it.

My understanding is that Micky proposed to Susan by phone. She came to Nashville and they married. Susan was part of the New Christy Minstrells.

I had a private concert. I was Micky's and Susan's home teacher. Once I visited them on their houseboat when both were sick and never left their bed while I was there. Micky was the kind of man who did not let his fame go to his head. He sang his version of the trilogy on the Bob Hope special. Micky was an Air Force veteran, professional fisherman later on and then entertainer. He lived for a time in Hendersonville, Tennessee where I make my home.

Jimmy has his own sound, sang his own soul. He wrote his own songs. When he covered someone else's song, he made it his own song. One of a kind. He body lives no more, but his spirit is around. Have a listen anytime you like. Yes, his spirit is around.
