Guys dont fight, every profession is important and will be needed to each other. Im engineer, my bf is architect, my parents and his parents are teachers, just missing a doctor and a lawyer but i could say everyone is important to each other

#1. Teacher (Without them we wouldn’t have all the other professions) #2. Architect (I’m not sure what they do exactly, but I think we have them to thank for our safety inside buildings) #3. Doctor (Obviously health is important) #4. Lawyer (very important for protection & justice) #5. Engineer (I have no clue what they actually do, so they are last 😅)

Doctors are number 1, without one you'll fucking die Engineers are number 2, without them you don't have your basic needs (all modern society is just one big engeneering problem) Lawyers are number 3, without them you'll end up in prison 4 are architects, cause they just make schematics and kind of steer on what has to be done And teachers are on the bottom, all school prepares you for is to be a wage slave for the goverment, school litteraly brainwashes people into thinking your job will be meaningfull for yourself, they restrict your creativity and will tell you that being creative is bad while making it seem what they are doing is the right thing, yes there are good teachers that care for their students and try to push them to their own goals but most teachers just prepare you to work in a cubicle or follow your parrent's footsteps and we all know most parrents either work at a dumbass convience stores, restraunt workers for women, or construction workers or buisness owners for men (for example)👍🏻

People spend 80% of their life in a building. As an architect I can influence 80% of their life. Architect used to be just planning building and making it good for use but it has developed over the years to become a tool to influence people behavior. If you ever work in a cubicle office vs an office that were design by a architect to maximize human psychology we will understand what architect do to other type of building.

I think many around the world agree that restoring studio culture to architectural education is fundamental. For many years a few colleagues and I dreamed of making an "after school studio" to fill in the gaps that universities are leaving, since changing the universities is a monumental task, but numerous obstacles left it as just an idea. It can be a tough sell to convince students to dedicate time to something they don't fully grasp when you're building a culture from the ground up, and you need the right space at the right location. Kevin's hard work on getting Archimarathon Studio off the ground is commendable and hopefully it can continue to grow and perhaps become a model others can follow.

Hey, I have a dream of being an architect one day. I’m quite young now, but if I study in my free time and as I progress and get older I am willing to work pretty damn hard. I loved architecture the day I was born. Any major subjects I should research, and learn about? Books I should buy etc?

Hi Alvin, I recently came across your inspiring Instagram video, and it really resonated with me. I'm currently embarking on a project to create an environmentally friendly, student-centered co-living space near a college in Uganda. Your passion for co-designing spaces struck a chord, especially as we aim to introduce this innovative concept to the area. We've secured the land and are at a stage where your expertise and vision could truly bring this project to life. It's not just about building a hostel; it's about crafting a sustainable, nurturing environment for students to thrive in. Would you be interested in joining us on this journey to co-design this pioneering student housing project? If this aligns with your passion and interests, I'd love to discuss further details. Please let me know the best email to reach you. Looking forward to the possibility of collaborating with you. Emmanuel

A fantastic introduction to your presentation, incredible journey and exceptional outcome!! We all have a responsibility to work to improve not just life in practice but also life as a student in architecture school. Right now, one of the questions I hear a lot is, ‘who’s teaching the teachers?’ and it’s so refreshing to see how you’ve worked to devise not just an architectural outcome but a methodology for how the profession can evolve. Thinking globally, acting locally. Shoutout to David too 😉 Huge congratulations Alvin!

thank you so much Daniel for following along for such a long time! That question is something I definitely want to explore and it's been crazy that teachers have been reaching out to me for advice on how they could be doing better! I definitely feel like the research has been helpful in answering some of their questions but wouldn't want to speak on behalf of EVERY student... All in all though, it's amazing to hear from teachers that care and with that attitude, I'm very optimistic!

This is probably one of the most passionate, thought provoking and interesting presentations I have ever watched. Great job man, I hope your message is heard loud and clear. Education in Architecture does need to be more accessible and considerate of the community and not just be based around pure presumptions from statistics, more human interaction should be included with any given project primarily users.
