The formula of Back in black combining the riff first, the way Brian sings the song second, THEN the content of the lyrics, are the reason for its success. Brian could've written different lyrics. Its Brians voice and the way he sings the lyrics. His phrasing. His tone. THAT... is the formula for the songs success. Listening to Axel Rose as a temporary replacement singer trying to sing back in black didn't do it for me as a fan of AC⚡️DC. Brian could stand on stage at this point and never actually say the words, but if he sang the notes with the original phrasing, nuances, and other vocal tricks he uses, he could still make it the monster rocking tune that this song always has been. Only Brian can truly phrase this song as it was intended to be. BACK IN BLACK is truly a classic rock iconic song.
