I had a Mitsubishi SUV with CVT. It was horrible. Taking off from a roundabout was a nightmare. Engine revved itself to bits, before accelerating. And yes, jerking at speed. Fuel economy was average to poor as well for a 2.4l 4 cylinder. My 2nd gen Honda CRV was a far better car. Same displacement and standard auto transmission with 4wd on demand. Should never have traded it in. Economy good too, for a brick. 8 litres/100klm. Mitsubishi never got near that.

In my country, every 30 minutes a CVT breakdown. And yes even new Toyota. My cousin bought a new Toyota and only driven 2,000km suffering from very noisy belt damage..

And transmission slip. Shift gear out of place slip like a twisted ankle or a bent elbow. Like something out of socket so to speak. 2024 toyota collora issues. Cvt. Other issues

I’ve owned 2 cars with CVT transmissions … a Nissan & now an Infiniti. No CVT problems. They’re smooth, quiet, and accelerate right along. Of course I’m not out there flooring the accelerator at every opportunity, nor am I burning doughnuts every night. And I’ve talked to Infiniti mechanics: the current transmissions are way improved from the initial transmissions introduced in the early 2000s. So … no worries.

its called squeezing transmission ,steel conicle pulleys driven through a steel chain. so Not much torque available fir hill climbing . The steel pulleys or the chains wear out due to friction and heat

Want nothing to do with CVT transmissions. I will never buy a vehicle with one. An automatic transmission that shifts can always be rebuilt and if the intention is to keep the vehicle long term, it is the best option. I can't imagine having to drive a vehicle gently all the time to make the transmission last. What is the auto industry turning into??

Hi I have a Nissan Xtrail 2015 2.5 CVT AWD GCC UAE Specifications, i replaced the transmission after i faced major stuttering issues 370,000km and now 430,000km.when driving slow in traffic from 20kmph to 40kmph, i am facing slight stuttering while gear is shifting down ,- is this again transmission failure? It works fine if i drive above 40kmph to 120kmph . please let me know if there is any other solution to fix this
