Just saw her at beech mountain. Heard the name. Didn't know the music. Wow !!! What a show. Is this Tina Turner ? Janis Joplin ? Mavis Staples ? Is this Country ? That was before the stoner songs started. This woman is every musical genre you can think of.

THIS IS A PAUL PENA SONG. Listen to the Pena original...even better than the Steve Miller cover.

Paul Pena’s original version is superior to this version. He has two verses that makes the song meaning come through clearly.

I was moving from Northern california to Las Vegas in 2016. On the final stretch of my day long drive at about 2:30 am I was getting really quite tired so I put this album on and I was listening to this song. I crested a ridge and saw the full lights of the city of Las Vegas laid out in the valley ahead of me right as her final lyrics ended and that smooth guitar outro began. I had always liked this song but at that moment it felt special, and I really felt God's peace. I'll never forget it, and I think about that night every time I hear that awesome ending to this song. It was pretty damn cool!! One of my all time favorite songs.

Skylight i am hooked on this song. This show has THE BEST choice when it comes to music to drive a scene/moment home. Starts off so somber and slow and kicks up when everything hits the fan. Perfection.

It's a really good song. I just don't know if I broke up with someone that I'd ask for my toothbrush back. If they're mad they might clean the toilet with it then give it back to you. Better to just buy a new one.

This is NOT a Rolling Stones cover. This is a Gospel song written way back in the 1940s. Sister Rosetta Tharpe made it famous before the Rolling Stones was ever a band.

Paul Pena song..Not SMB
@Hurricaneintheroom
@Hurricaneintheroom 5 жыл бұрын
Paul Pena gave the song to SMB to release. Bob Dylan has some issue & blocked Pena from releasing the song. SMB agreed to take the song, change it up a bit, & release it. Paul Pena got paid royalties from the SMB version. It helped his living situation in the 70s. Paul Pena was sick as well. These are not carbon copy songs. Each had it's own style.

@@Hurricaneintheroom This is a case where you can love SMB and Pena's version of this song and there is no conflict. In the credits for Genghis Blues, there is a thanks to Steve Miller.

Very good. First time I've heard a female due a NY tune. Yet...there's something about the coked up and drunk voice of Neil's on Tonight's The Night album that just can't be beat. Ever.
