Load another game, play for a while (some for a few sec some for a few min), then load RDR2. I know it sucks but it works.

new comment - for ps5 users i have found a fix works 100 percent 1= first open red dead make sure ur getting 50 percent bug 2= quit game 3= open any other multiplayer game ( in this case i open warzone and join a quick rebirth ) 4= wait a few seconds 5 = switch back to red dead and join any mode ( all modes worked ) and it will directy skip to 90 percent and then load in so i guess its a glitch with the ps5 networking not the actual game

(I’m on PS5) what I did to load in every time is if you have RD as a disc, eject the disc and put it back in, Ive loaded in every time as well as a buddy of mine.

Guys load story mode first then into online worked for me I spent a hour trying to join a friend's invite I remember the crappy shit in gta too Story mode then load into online always works

I have the same shit What i do and work usually is starting another game and bk to rdo online and it works some says you need to clean cache memory or whatever called or joining sorymode and online then but it worked for me one time only

OMG Rockstar have now come back to me and said ‘We kindly request you to switch network and see if the issue still exist.’ This comes after they already got me to create a new specific LAN network connection & know from the same chat, that I’ve tried both Wifi & LAN. If they are now suggesting I change to a different internet provider, when there is nothing wrong with the internet & it’s Rockstars own bug…….. grrrrrr

Guys I found a way to fix it. U have to enter through story mode and then go into a shoot out series and quit to free roam. This worked for me I hope it works for u. 😁

FIX FOR ME idk if this make sense or no. but if u realize we only stuck at 50% after we closed rdr2. so everytime i tried to reopen rdr2 i open other app first. and then i close that game and start rdr normaly. hope it helps

Temporary fix. My son says if he joins a voice chat before loading the game it loads perfectly. The other person doesn’t even have to be online. He’s on PS5

WORKING PERMANENT FIX FOR PS5 USERS!! 1. Uninstall Red Dead 2. Install 30-40 gigabytes of other games. This makes it so that when you re install red dead ut is placed on a different sector of the hard drive. 3. Re install Red Dead. The fix worked perfectly for me and I havent had problems since :)

I finally got in touch with rockstar anf this is a confirmed permanent fix. You dont need to clear cache or go into story mode or any of those temporary fixes. Glad I could help
