Hey guys I am digging your videos for the bro-manship and obvious dedication to the art and slog of Big Musky fishing! I have a question about your thoughts on conservation and the sanctity of handling the largest of the large fish you get into… Why is always necessary for your anglers to boat the fish and bang em on a bump board and pose them? All indications from the industry say the fish needs to stay in the water. Is it for the numbers or do you just not agree that pulling these out of the water increases mortality? Thanks

Luke, I’m torn between a 9’ 6” Predator H vs 9’ 6” XH Predator for a primary bucktail rod for 8/9 Combos, Double 9’s, and Double 10’s. What are your thoughts on that?
@ThorneBros7 күн бұрын
For bucktails #8s and smaller we would lean more towards the Stealth H, but for bucktails #9s and bigger the Predator XH would be where we would lean!

Whats Luke run for a rod/reel set-up for throwing TB burners, squeeky girls, showggirls, small bucktail, etc.????
@ThorneBros3 ай бұрын
For this he was using the 10' Stealth Heavy for the bucktails, but when they have a 7/0 hook he prefers the 10' Stealth XH to dig the hooks in better. Daiwa Prorex in a 7:1:1 or a Lexa TW in the same gear ratio for the reel.

NIce Hog, we used to use slay them on large custom Rob Dey Spinner baits like what your using back in the 90's. Also great results trolling them in the slop.

And that’s one reason I went ultrex. 🤣
@ThorneBros3 ай бұрын
It wasn't the ultera that was the issue. His battery didn't charge over night and it died. We went back and grabbed the other one in the truck.

Luke: You're beating the banks with bucktails in June. If you're fishing Crow in late September or October, would you shift tactics to deeper open water and maybe do some trolling? I did a 1 week trip to Musky Bay with M.I. Twin Cities chapter back in 02, at that time of year. Had motor problems and didn't catch a muskie.
