Hello, it is interesting that the prop that arrived in Florida is laminated wood and not the silver prop on display.

The prop shown on the video is painted/coated wooden laminate. I have no idea of the props history, but it may be that it was time expired when the deal was done on the aircraft and it's had a new prop added or supplied with it - just guessing!

These were extremely maneuverable in dogfights. The French used them against German ME-109's at the beginning of WW2.

The highest I flew, FL330, a Hi-Lo-Hi mission in an Air Defence exercise, three birds formation, we led ... The run in leg simulated high level bombing upon Singapore ... Suddenly, the Amber warning light triggered: Low cabin pressure .. we pressed on as target was near, two birds at our wings .. turned on 100% oxygen and my chest blown up!

An interesting flight experience, close to the service ceiling (FL400 I think?). Thanks to the oxygen back up 'mission accomplished' and home with a clear head. 👍

The main fleet was Mk84, later, four Mk81 bought from Yemen ... so, were called Yemeni aeroplanes ... The last one had airframe number of 323, lucky number ... For some reason, unknown to me, it had only one seat .. therefore it was not used for student solo, until they're in the later phase ... I had nearly 30 hours in this bird for some "special purpose" .. felt very light .. just only it had one seat

Thanks for all of the interesting information. Those 30 'special purpose' hours are intriguing as well as that 'missing seat'! It would be great to see RSAF visit UK for the Royal International Air Tattoo one day. I'm sure they would be made very welcome and very popular.

That was the first time I knew a country called "Yemen" ... then the second time "Yemen" came into my ears .. the Southern China that took me back to Guangzhou, came from Sanah, Yemen .. a very messy place

I think it's now on its 4th engine. Started as a Merlin Mk. 12 with a Coffman starter. It now has a Merlin 35, which I don't think has/needs a Coffman.

@@HighFlight the sound would be unmistakable if it was a Coffmann. My father always hated them, saying it was too rough on the engine. He also flew AR213 (now P7308 IIRC) at 57 OTU. Nice to see these flying. !!

Разве я не прав, что когда только хотели поставлять Украине леопардов, то все громко заявляли, что это неуязвимая машина, которой нет равных Техника, любая техника, всегда горит) От этого и забавно выходит, когда видишь, как подобные тебе ловят триггер с того, что техника всегда горит, какой бы флажок нации на ней не был)
