Football 🏈 is a man’s game not a coward’s game Derek and Bruce physically assaulting Jane is way beyond cowardly and shows the kind of cowards they are also boys will be boys is no excuse for cowards to physically abuse a girl that so called football 🏈 coach should be ashamed of himself.

In seasons 5 he was alright and i didn’t mind him, but in season 6 he turned into a total douchebag. His behavior in season 8 was appalling, with how he treated Jane when she was on the football team and how he brought a rope after the Holly J hate group on FaceRange. I’m glad he was blackholed

Well Derek did have that one moment in “Bad Medicine” where he saw how much Danny liked Leia and gave him permission to go after her, appreciating how he tried to hook them up in the first place. Even seemed to truly rekindle their friendship. So it didn’t end on a sour note. It was pretty mature of him to do that. So I’ll give him props for it.

No joke that scene with Paige sympathizing with Rick is one of my favorite scenes of whole show. The one person who he thought would enjoy his humiliation the most and was even behind the prank was sorry that that happened to him. And he finally got to properly apologize to her for what he did to Terri which resolved their conflict. At the time, it made Rick totally change his mind about the shooting (before Spinner and Jay ruined everything). It really showed things didn’t have to turn out the way it did. But I think most of all, the scene showed that even a little kindness and compassion can really go a long way. I really do view Rick as a tragic and sympathetic character.

After watching the og Degrassi and then the final film, I feel like Derek was probably Tessa and Joey’s son. She probably kept him and put him up for adoption. They resemble each other a lot, even from the nose. If they’d kept him, despite his jerk behavior, we would’ve seen his adoption story and him trying to find his birth mother. I didn’t realize during that time, that Marc had left the show. If he’d stayed, we would’ve definitely gotten that story line, and probably a character development.

The idiots (characters) ridiculed Derek constantly and the whole football team was against Jane but he gets all the hate. Besides Jane deserved it for calling Derek ugly. There was so much potential with his character since he was adopted. Huge missed opportunity right there not exploring that story. His birth mother could have searched for him or he could have initiated a search for her or birth dad or have him reject her for abandoning him. Endless possibilities with the adoptee angle
