include slippage and commission and the strategy dies, but good starting point!

hi tomas , its a very intresting strategy , but i shows diffrent result when i am using 1 NQ and when i am using 10 MNQ , all the parameters is the same only the data has been changed why is that? seconable should i use the bar magnifier /intra bar swithed on in the backtest calculation ? because the entry trigger is in the bar (stop order) or should i not? thanks
@BetterTraderAcademy16 күн бұрын
Hello @kfirkoren8953, It’s interesting that the results vary! Ensuring the bar magnifier is turned on should help achieve consistency. I hope this helps.

currently my portfolio is about 6 strategies with correlation under 0.4 and i plant to put it live in 2 months with 15 - 20 strategies
@BetterTraderAcademy18 күн бұрын
Expanding to 15-20 strategies with low correlations should make for a well-diversified portfolio. Best of luck with the launch!

Interesting Portfolio, i am bit Confused. How Do i interprete the numbers correctly, what is the return on Initial capital in percent?
@BetterTraderAcademy19 күн бұрын
Hi @_jonashess! Right now it is approx. 30% average return annually with 4-5% MaxDD. Without compounding. (I am going to make it more aggressive in the near future, though).

Thanks Tomas! I am struggling to find a tool that does just this... uses strategy backtest as opposed to market data to build a portfolio. is this tool publicly available or do you have recommendations for others that work well for strategy portfolio construction?

If the strategy results get worse, then just half or quarter the investment. An easy way to create a 20/30 MA on the strat equity curve if equity falls below that then reduce the amount invested until the equity curve goes about that MA

Your videos are VERY helpful Tomas! I love what you do! It'd interesting to know what kind of stats you have been able to achieve by combining good quality low correlation strategies. What kind of DD relative to returns.
@BetterTraderAcademy2 ай бұрын
Thank you for your feedback @cabletrader3055. This depends. Good year - 100% and more with about 20% DD. Usually I play more conservatively, 2.5 to 1 the % return vs MaxDD ratio. Hope this helps.

I am also not familiar with EasyLanguage and I have several questions: 1. FIlter1 - Filter1 = HighD(0) > CloseD(1) and closed(1) > openD(1); Shouldn't it be - Filter1 = HighD(0) > CloseD(1) and closeD(1) > openD(1); ? 2. Breakout_Level Breakout_Level = Close + BO_Points; Where is "Close" defined? What is it exactly? Would it be closeD(1) instead of Close? 3. Chicago time: AllowedTime = Time >= 800 and Time < 1500; How does TradeStation know we want to use Chicago time? 4. What is the value of a "Point" in EasyLanguage / TradeStation. Are prices expressed in points rather than currency? If we add 7 points to an S&P 400 price of 3,072.12 do we get 3,072.19 (3,072.12 + 0.07)? Thank you

This is very true . Even in day trading , exits and entries are not as simple as choosing a target price and putting a Stop loss order . Trading is a very fluid operation which requires constant management according to the prevailing conditions.
@BetterTraderAcademy2 ай бұрын
Thanks for your insight! You're absolutely right! Trading isn't just about setting targets and stopping losses. It requires adaptability and active management to respond to market conditions in real-time. Appreciate your input!
