I think I remember you auditioning for a metal band in Rockland County in the late 80’s. Does that sound right to you?

I did not know he could swing like that on the kit. Melodic too. I've been a drummer since the mid 60s, and I've always just seen him play timbales on various tv shows. I was pleasantly surprised and very impressed. You are a great son for keeping your dad's memory alive.

Your dad was a king. Though I never knew about him until He was on Sesame street in the 90s, I started to listen to his music much later. He knew how to treat the drum!

Tito you probably dont remember me, we are a year apart. i haven't seen you since 1980.. my dad played bass with your dad in NYC in the 1950s and was on albums with him then. His name was Tony Reyes..he was on a bunch of latin samba records and bands and early cuban jazz from the late 40s through the mid 60s.. then background studio session work the rest of his life into the 1980s..

was your dad tempted to tighten the skin on his snare drum to make it sound like a timbale? lol. Loved your Dad. he visited Montreal a few times and we loved going out to hear him.

He is a king in my childhood hood, El Barrio East Harlem NYC. My ancient recollection tells me the neighborhood word that he lived just a few streets down from my same avenue around just over the 100's... but I've been wrong about a lot of the recollections; not about King Tito
