I was at Mark Heards last show at Cornerstone. I remember at one point he said that he wasn't feeling well and he sat down and finished his set with a mandoline.

That Mortal series record is utterly breathtaking in its passion. I had both records when they came out and saw Mortal live. Fantastic band. It was really really creative of them turning the lift mix into a live rager.

Oh sorry i don't know Japanese. I just Google searched the translation of "Kiss Me" If you know how to write out all the text in Japanese and leave them in the comments, I could try to make a lyric video of from your typed out characters. Thanks

Steve-O was a truly madcap comedian - of the SNL level. Those of us in the mid 80s to 90s who appreciated such were a niche but a boisterous one ! Steve wasn't appreciated by the Church at large back then yet was a humorous self critical voice we Christians sorely needed I'd urge any here to bless themselves by listening 🎧 to all his great songs and enjoy some excellent unique music + commentary songs. You'll be both Blessed by his true reverence for Godly things & likely offended when he approaches your "sacred cow".

Do you have the live footage without the overdubbed music? I’ve been dying to hear live footage of them?
@EternalRockShow

Just the first moments of that video is live audio. I didn't record the entire song Matthew when I was there. All the clips within the overdub are all the footage I recorded of that song then.It was off and on. Sorry I don't have it.

@@EternalRockShow thank you for getting back with me! I’ve been on the hunt for any and ALL things last broadcast. They’re my favorite band of all time and the were only around for such a small amount of time. I’ve reached out to Danny their singer over the years and not even he has any merch. It’s wild! If you find any PLEASE let me know.

My dad ran one of the stages for many years at Cornerstone (I think it was called the Underground stage, but I was 10.) I have so many memories of running lights with him in the sound booth, making smoothies and espresso at the smoothie bar in our tent with my mom, and moshing in the circle pit at Flatfoot 56. This video brought back a lot of lost childhood memories. Thank you for this blast from the past!

Thanks for this look into Mark Heard. Mark and I were both born in 1951 and I had only learned of him and his music, around the time of his passing. I was a career Sailor (Navy) and had been playing guitar since age 10, with some ukulele and mountain dulcimer dabbling on the side. I credit Pierce Pettis and Bruce Cockburn for initially turning me onto Mark, through their music/covers, as well as their mentions of him in interviews…and I should mention Buddy and Julie Miller, Phil Keaggy, Victoria Williams, and Keith Green. This was circa ‘80 or so and it was a time of rebuilding my Faith, and even when I backslide a little, it seems Mark and his music are revealed to me and it gently pulls me back to where I need to be.

I learned of Mark's music through Steve Hill at the Brownsville revival. Steve used the song He will listen to you and Psalm 61.

I would argue best punk album of that decade. What comes close? Blink 182? Nope. LIG best album. And they did with clean, non-vulgar lyrics, which is a marvel.
