Yes I did. I just covered it back there in the video while I waited for the parts to get to me. It as a week after that I installed the new one. The Stator was burned and it also fried the wire that comes from it. These bikes are notorious for the Stator frying every couple years. I bought one from Rick's Motorsports. Their electric components are real ggod. I have replaced Stator, Voltage Rectifier, Starter Solenoid and just this past summer I replaced the Starter Motor from Rick's. Touch wood all my electric is fine and the Stator has hold up now for 4 years instead of 2. Here is their website ricksmotorsportelectrics dot com Wish you luck. Let us know what you had to fix. I had ran all the test prior to opening it up and the test were passing everytime. I fianlly gave up and opened the cover as you see in the video when it was obvious the freaking that burned all the way.

@@mikebike999s great info and thanks for the link. I plan to pull the cover after doing all the electrical checks. I installed a fully charged battery and checked the voltage while running and that appears to be okay as it was around 14 -15 volts while running. My triple has 52,000 miles on it and runs great other than poor charging of the battery.

Thank you, Jay. That's a cheap Chinese one from Amazon. I just bought a 2nd one before the trip as the first one was not staying in one place due to the wind. All the elbows/joints are real tight but the last one on top that holds the phone has a plastic nut that cracked and wasn't tightening. So this new one is working fine for now. Sorry. Just saw your msg. Still have the bike. Done many mods. Also, replaced the Chain & Sprockets. Yesterday installing a Fuse Block cutting into the License plate wires but didn't have luck making it work. So back to the drawing board and shall try again next Saturday. Have lots of videos but no time to edit and upload. Someday. To answer your question, Oil is always good. Hardly have to top it off. Maybe just a bit a month or so though I ride this bike very hard and fast.

Hi Perfecto, Does the bike eventually start or you haven't rode the bike in 3 years? Not that I remember. Have you checked for spark at the plugs and that's fine? And you think its getting fuel because you hear the pump priming? First try cheap fix. Ether test your EFI relay or just replace it for $20. Its the relay next to the fuel pump relay. If not then try and remove the fuel rail and see if you can see the fuel spitting out from the injectors. Could your injectors be that clogged? Does the bike ever start? You mean the bike hasn't started in 3 years? I have a video somewhere of my injectors. Hey Mike, Just make sure to get all the air out of the radiator when you flush your system. There is a bleed valve on the right-top side of the radiator. I am having that issue now even though I know it. I rushed it this time and so it was boiling up a little in yesterdays heat. I believe I have a video of that too maybe here but I am sure you can find plenty more.

Hey Vixen, I am on the East Coast and I order my parts from Hermy's. Their service is real great. Call them and speak to Alex in the parts. He knows his stuff But the Stator itself I got the aftermarket from Rick's Stator Hope that helps

05-07 speed triples will need to have the charging system upgraded. 08 + year models have revised charging systems without issues. 05-10 speedys have the iconic better looking dual round headlights. 2011+ have R versions available (Brembo brakes and ohlins suspension). Also newer speed triples have smoother gearboxes and six gears. Five gears on older models. They all share the awesome inline 3 counter balancing shaft whistle/whine at revs. Reliable bike and enough linear power.

@@kzoomin I am getting the 2010 Speed triple with the low boy full exhaust. I will receive it next week. Am hipped up. I hate the ugly bulky look of the 2011+ models. I also ordered LED headlights!

Hi Jeremy, I got this bike used on February 2017 from the thieves :) at BrooklynMyad. After picking up the bike, the very next day had it towed again to them as he gave me the bike with the Stator gone. He replaced the Stator with probably used shitty one which lasted couple years. I replaced it again with $300 Rick's Stator. Its been fine ever since. @K H here above is right. The charging system sucks on these bikes. But if you spend the money and replace the Stator then you should be fine. I even have Rick's Voltage Rectifier that I used couple times but it's sitting on the shelf right now as I am still using the OEM Rectifier. The other issue is the Ignition Lockset Key. It has 7 wires that come off it from underneath. For ignition, Headlights, Turn Signals etc. You may have to drill out the heads of the two bolts where the ignition is bolted to the frame. The wire cable is short and every time you turn your handle bars, it scrapes and stretches the wire eventually it will cut the wires. I found a nice used one on ebay after getting tired of having to soldier the wires several time. Keep an eye out on ebay for a used one as of now and get it when you find one as they are real hard to come by and very expensive for a new one. I have so many videos of making such repairs on this bike. One of these days I shall edit and upload the here.

I have several video's repairing this bike but haven't had time to edit the video's. One of these days hopefully this winter.

Hey Ariel, I am not sure. The carbon was already there when I got the bike. Also, these bikes have the same issues when you press on the starter and nothing happens due to couple other reasons too. One of the main culprit is the ignition lockset key. There are 7 wires under the lockset that turn on the headlights, the gauge clutter and of course to start the bike. That whole wire set is short and when you turn the handle bars, it eventually cuts the wire. And that’s one of the main reason you may be having issues. I have had to solder those wires like several times. I also have many videos on how to fix that too. If I haven’t post it here then that’s because I haven’t had time to edit video. I will look for it this week and see if I can post it. Let me know if the clutch switch fixed your problem. If not then it’s a very expensive to replace the lockset unless you can solder it like I did. One way to check it without opening up everything is, whenever you have that issue, then try to jiggle or press on wires under the key. Or just turn the handle bars from left to right while starting the bike. And if does start while doing that, then it could be those wires.
