We don't insulate the pads, but the edge of the PCB, to avoid contacts between the flat cable and the circuit. The pads are free from insulation and the flat cable gets attached to them.

Was this a ribbon cable running from the LCD as I too need to repair one from that I don't know if its possible.

@ yes the one running from LCD , it is possible to bond it back on PCB , but you have to be careful not to overheat it.

@@piccadillycircus9416 I had one of the ribbon cables wrong and it burnt one I saw magic smoke and immediately unplugged it but it split the lcd cable open, maybe it just burned the film but I'm going to volt meter check continuity on everything and see if i can diagnose it if I can get it running again, Really discusted as the unit was working when i Took it apart just to clean and re glue diffusion lenses, Thanks for responding!

@@piccadillycircus9416 Yeah my ribbon cable got sizzled, perhaps it just split where it got burn and the rest are still connected and mend that one or two that melted away. might be really difficult as this 60" lcd ribbon lines are super tiny from the looks of it.

Hi, in this case the issue is the display, not the LED. Anyhow, when replacing the display as in the video or the LED, there's no need to reprogram the cluster, km or mileage stays the same as prior the repair.
