Good question. In this scenario having your in ears fed from a matrix means you can have the flexibility to monitor the front of house mix while adding in more (from the aux) of your own personal instruments, eg bass and vocals in this case. This method I use is so I can play and mix in the band. Hope I got your question right. Thanks

Good questions. I can only say that I have my SQ since it first came out and so far everything has been working perfect on it. I've no experience using Avantis. The Yamaha is a great mixer weith professional features. It all depends I suppose on which workflow suits you best :)

I sure do understand and that is helpful. I prefer to have reference of FOH effects in my in ears so I can make changes and hear those changes while I am playing bass in the band on stage. Thanks

true but harder to access when you're the mixing engineer and you are playing the bass in the band too :) Although a button could be assigned to turn on and off an insert either :)

@@ronnieduignan very true. i’m still saving up for an SQ, so i don’t have access to one, is there a way to use one of the fx without a bus and just send a channel to it and still use a return? so you can have the return level on a fader. i know it’s possible on the Qu series

@@asilva_media They're hard to get at the moment too, shortage of units due to delays in parts I believe. Yes you can, you can use the same principle as the Qu, use a mix bus as a Mix/return and have your FX on it instead :)

Hey Timothy, I send my FOH LR directly into a speaker controller system - Fohhn FC8 where all the crosccovers are set for subs and mid high speakers. An Aux/mix bus can also be used set to post fader level for a mono send into sub amplifiers from instruments you want to send to the subs, e.g. kick drum, bass, floor tom, etc.

Hey Timothy, apologies for the delay, I'm not getting notifications unfortunately. I use the DX1608 via the sLINK onboard. You can use any AR or AB stageboxes either, the difference being the sample rate - 96khz vs 48khz. Hope that helps :)

Hi there, for stereo feeds to three other sets of speakers I would just assign main LR to your three Matrix sends set to stereo and route them out through your mix outs 1-6

Its just not easy to find out the things that maybe not so good, about any music gear, because most of the videos come from music stores... Since nothing is "perfect", they shouldn't be so shy about mentioning the occasional issue or missing feature, like with this one, a lot of people say it has less FX available than the Qu series, instead you're supposed to pay through the nose to unlock the ones that are already installed from the factory. In spite of that, for my purposes I don't see a better digital console than the SQ series at the moment.

Hey there, press the FX button and select the second FX bank on the left. Hit library and select the delay you want to use and apply. Then go to the rear view of the effect and ensure that it is not set as an insert on any channel or group or mix. Let me know if you get sorted
