Awesome video. Completed my first shave with a razor ever no issues no irritation . As a black man of jamaican decent. I was def skeptical of razors. But the hot towel for 5 min and shaving with the grain instead against was key. I AM SO HYPE. Thanks to this video. BIGG UPS MY YUTE! 🇯🇲 🇯🇲

“Most Black Men” SHOULD NOT USE ANY RAZORS!! Find a Quality Shaver!! If you have to use a razor USE A SAFETY RAZOR ONLY or a 1-Blade Razor!! If you get razor bumps you’re Doing it Wrong! No Bumps fellas 💪💪

The largest black population in the USA is located in Jackson, Mississippi. So with that being said there's some black people out there that assisted in this horrific situation.

What do you mean by saying that black men have a hard time shaving? What's the difference with white people?
@elijahholland39955 ай бұрын
Black people have curlier hair, and it begins to curl out of the pore. When you shave too close to the skin or against the natural direction, it can cause the hair to curl back in the skin causing sever bumps and then scarring. The best recommendation is to use a safety razor or straight razor versus multiple blades like Gillette, it gives a clean shave without being to close to the skin, causing the irritation

Another tip that may work for you, don't use multi blade razors. Single blade razors work best for me; might work for you too.

Is shaving really different between skin colors? I think not. Everyone is an individual. Never use a five blade three blade razor. Single blade old school safety razor works best. Pop a fresh blade in every time. They are cheap

Yes. It's a matter of skin color for both the appearance (razor bumps being more visible) and because black people have more course hair than any other race, making it harder and sometimes more painful to shave if we were to follow shaving advice online that mostly have white men in mind. You're not about to sit here and say "I think not" and give us advice we didn't ask for when we've been doing this for years.

THE 10 COMMANDMENTS PREVENTING OF INGROWN HAIRS: 1. THOU SHALT NOT USE DIRTY BLADES! Using a blade that's been used way too many times. Yes, this one may be obvious, but be sure to keep your used tools as clean as possible. Soap and rubbing alcohol will destroy bacteria. Pro Tip: even brand new blades need to be cleaned. 2. HONOR THY DELICATE SKIN! Too many blades! If you are prone to ingrown hairs then you don’t need 3 or more blades. More blades equal more passes causing the hair to fall beneath the skin and become ingrown plus more blading the skin leads to micro cuts through which bacteria is more likely to enter and this leads to razor burn. 3. DO NOT TAKE PREP TIME IN VAIN! You should be using a warm/hot water prep (3-5 mins). Then leave the shaving cream on for more than 2-3 minutes to really soften the hair. The hair stubble should literally fall away with little or no pressure at all. Pressing hard is the problem! Be gentle ya'll. 4. THOU SHALT NOT GO AGAINST THE GRAIN! Shaving against the grain. Shave in the direction of hair growth (usually down, but perform a face/ body map to be sure) Inspect your hairy self and notice the way the hair grows. 5. THOU SHALT NOT PRESS! Pressing too hard on the skin with the blade. A gliding, light touch is all you need. This is likely your biggest issue. 6. THOU SHALT NOT PASS, PASS, PASS! Too many quick passes with the blade. One pass per hairy area - going 1-2 inches downward at a time - will prevent ingrown hairs. Always shave like you might cause damage, not like your mowing the front yard lawn. 7. THOU SHALT NOT COMMIT OVER SHAVING! Shaving too many times. This rule is hard to follow, especially if you have to shave for your career but if you are prone to ingrowns, try shaving with an electric clipper. The results are not super close but no one but you will know the difference. Ladies, try waxing. 8. THOU SHALT NOT CLOG! Use of skin/pore clogging creams or lotions. These keep hairs from growing up. After a shave, keep your skin bare; let the tiny army breath, and allow those newly shaved, really small, microscopic hairs to grow out just in time for the next shave. If your objective is smooth, bump-free skin following a shave or wax, then right after your goal should be to allow the skin to heal first. promote healing by proper shaving techniques followed by subtle rubbing alcohol (this kills any bacteria that may enter those micro cuts created from the shave) . Then after a few hours let the moisturizing commence! 9. KEEP THY SMOOTH SKIN FREE! At least for the first day or two, try to avoid tight fitting clothing around the Adam’s apple (neck) and/or below the waistline region. Newly shaved hair follicles need room to raise up. 10. REMEMBER TO EXFOLIATE! Not enough exfoliation to remove excess layers of skin causes ingrown hairs. Use an ingrown hair brush for razor bumps as directed. Make sure it’s a brush that has special bristles designed to tease newly shaved hairs away from entering the skin before they can become ingrown. If you have sensitive skin, then go with the soft and firm bristles. Try a Wizker brush and you’ll prevent razor bumps and ingrown hairs permanently!

Use a brush everyday and especially before you shave to have the growing hair not curl back into the skin. You can use a toothbrush for that purpose. Ps, use a different toothbrush to brush your teeth lol. Drink water often. Lastly, use a after shave lotion everyday as well. After every face wash and shave. Brush the beard up and put the lotion on.
@DrSkull19393 жыл бұрын
I also found out over the years that if you brush your beard upwards against the growth of your hair, this will inhibit most hair growing back in the skin causing razor bumps. I learned this using the old PFB razor around 40 years ago. You have to brush up the beard every day if you plan on shaving it frequently. I think it was called PFB- Preferred For Blacks Razor. Don't know if it still exist but the brush tip really helps keep bumps away. Plus, drink plenty of water to help your skin dilute impurities

I've bean talking to some of my coworkers about shaving to improve my routine. One of the black guys says he uses and old norelcorotary and equate 2blade catriges. And has never had any problems. Not all black guys have razor breakouts . I liked the the razor that a professional barber used on me. But I don't want to pay for a shave evrytime I shave. Its cheaper to bybthe best stuff thats out there and just shave my self entil I get good skill.

That ball did not seam to improve my shave but it connects to the skin guard cartridge whichis nice. But every cartridge for that handle is an unsustainable price. If the blades get dull I probably won't replace. I would just go farther into the D E realm.
