Very informative for people in academia, as a student or faculty member. Just curious if you are still daily driving A5X or tempted by the new version A5X2. I don’t have any and I am unable to decide between A5X and A5X2.
@ConnerHomestead16 күн бұрын
@Ammarsays I don't think they sell the A5X anymore only the upgraded A5X2. I'm using a A5X I bought from someone reselling. There's a good resale market for the devices as many people buy to try them out. I'm happy enough to stick with it especially since Supernote updates their devices with free software upgrades on all devices.
@MuhammadAmmarZahid-p1l16 күн бұрын
@@ConnerHomesteadyes you are right. New A5X is not available anymore and prices for used ones are still high. I would better save for the new one so I can use it for longer. Thank you once again for your review.

As a fellow faculty member I have a question. My university expects any of our devices with sensitive information to be both password-protected and encrypted. If I understand correctly, there is no way to have onboard encryption for the Supernote. How do you handle student information in terms of privacy expectations?
@ConnerHomestead16 күн бұрын
@sdorn I really only use it to read and write feedback on their work. I do have an attendance sheet on there. I use Google Classroom for grading, communication and other record keeping.

Hey, young lady. What you have is a good cold smoker. Cold smokers are difficult to achieve. Cold smokers are good to smoke cured meat such as pork loin, pork belly, eye of round. So you can make cold cuts. I also like your cork soaking in alcohol to start a fire. Good thing I don't throw away my wine bottle corks. You could modify your smoke house (cabinet) by lining the lower part of it with bricks so you could burn wood directly inside of it. This way you can have a cold smoker and hot smoker with the same cabinet.

Sorry I am trying to understand the term HOMESTEADER: this is what Google shows: “someone who goes to live and grow crops on land given by the government, especially in the past.” Is this the context you mean it in? EDIT: The above is the Cambridge dictionary definition. I see there is also a Wikipedia definition. Is this what you mean by Homesteader? “Homesteading is a lifestyle of self-sufficiency. It is characterized by subsistence agriculture, home preservation of food, and may also involve the small scale production of textiles, clothing, and craft work for household use or sale.”
@ConnerHomestead16 күн бұрын
@SpikedSilver there are different levels to homesteading but the 2nd definition is closer to what we do.

Wrap some insulation on your pipe from the burner to the smokehouse. I think you are losing quite a bit of heat as it passes thru the connector. I love the rack set up, that was a great idea, strong enough to hold heavy meats, far better than light weight wire. You have me rethinking how mine is, now just to find a thicker rack.

IDK what your plans are for the beds that were infested. However, if the beds are deep enough, lasagna gardening with layers of wet cardboard and compost/soil on top might be a good way to go.

Thanks for the video. I have a question - is there a pump with aeration in this system or is a regular water pump installed?

The aeration comes from the space between the Roots and water line. They're not completely submerged. They have pumps that work on a schedule 30 min on/off.

What are you smoking? Asking, because I see your smoker on an extended pipe, but you at the same time water the wood flakes. If you smoke on cold smoking, don't add any water to the system... don't water your woodchips.
