Yes CLog3/SGamut3 (cine) and HDR HLG. Best is use HLG3.

It is a simple quarter turn counter-clockwise. Just be sure to not misplace it! (I deal with high school students so keeping up with things is not their strong suit.)

I use the PXW-X70 and love it. I’m glad you’re teaching students how to use real video cameras and not stupid DSLRs for video.

Thank you. It is a great camera and works well across multiple applications. Beyond basic video production and journalism, you can use this camera very effectively in film-style productions, and even more as a part of your multicam productions. It is hard to beat Sony in this regard. Thanks for watching and I am sorry for the delayed response.

Hi, thanks for this video. I have a Roland V-8HD switcher with HDMI program output. Is there an HDMI input on this recorder. Can I record video & audio directly to this recorder using the V-8HD's HDMI output?

If you can use this to record stuff from a tv. Can i just plug an HDMI cable into my computer and into the hyperdeck to record. or will i need a capture device with obs to do that. It's kind of confusing.

You can definitely plug an HDMI cable from your computer into a Hyperdeck and record. You do need to make sure there is no HDCP (copy protection) on the HDMI signal. I’m not sure about how finicky it might be to get resolution and frame rate working properly, as I run my computer outputs through an UpDownCross converter to avoid that set of issues.

Just got these for my class also. We are running a pretty similar setup. As soon as it gets here I'm making a broadcast cart similar to this one: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZPRi5mwlr6bn7M. I think it might help you out if you haven't seen it. I wanted to make it easy for my kids to broadcast anywhere anytime and only have to plug in one cable.

Hi! Thanks for a good review/unboxing!Do you know if its possible to turn off the "on screen menu" on the ACE 500? Would be great for live events, if the signal was lost - that it just goes black and no screen saying like lost signal or some thing 😊 thanks ;)
