Hi Wendy. How does it feel to be back at work doing what you love doing? As Mrs. Dale. I purchased a set Whals clippers and not to impressed with them. I’ve been Grooming Phoebe my tiny toy poodle for about 6 months now, and whew it’s so difficult to do. Apparently Her Groomer ( who she had been with since she was a tiny puppy ( 6 plus yrs) I’ve invested in Her shampoo and conditioners, two sets of clippers, I really believe that the groomer had to put her in a hanging harness in order to do her nails and paws as she is so very ticklish with clippers. She does really good whilst doing her body, face and top notch and ears, I realize that I tend to get a bit nervous in like doing her armpits and have yet to get that down. 😢. I know I have to be calm and patient whilst grooming her, so I do take breaks. The set of clippers were I guess the cheaper set of Whals clippers, but my budget is so tight. I did purchase a set made for small dogs that work really well, but between using that set and the Whals, I still am not getting a good even groom. I can’t wait for you to have Poodles to do so I can watch and re watch and hopefully figure all this out. I have such great Respect for Groomers as it’s so much harder than I ever realized it would be, but I just cannot afford my groomer any longer as Phoebe had emergency Liver Surgery which was over $5,000.00 and she is on Rx. Dog food and dog treats as well as it’s so expensive to have her liver enzymes checked via blood work. And her Heart Worm, flea and tick medication is over $100.00 for 3 months. I’m praying after watching you several times showing each step in grooming a poodle, I will master grooming my precious baby girl. Have a great wkend Wendy. Hi Wendy. I think you need to increase your volume as the past several videos, I’ve had to turn my volume all the way up and still you are hard to hear and understand everything your saying as it’s so muted. I am loving your New Salon area. So excited for your upcoming Poodle Tutorials. Yay!

Thank you for putting this video together. I really appreciate it. You make it look so easy, but it is HARD! my Shih Tzu will be 15 in November. She is deaf and very anxious. We have taken her to five groomers in the last year and she has bitten every one of them. Our vet gave us medication to sedate her while she’s being groomed. The last Groomer was afraid to muzzle her because of her age and the sedation. Needless to say, we are never invited back, and I honestly don’t blame any of these groomers. I have to learn to groom her myself. I will watch your videos again and again until I get this right. Thank you again.

You could try the bubble cone or Elizabeth collar to clip the body and legs. Then take your time trimming the head. At some point your dog may just have learned to react in that way to stop the groomer doing what they are doing. Starts with a small warning or trigger then progressively gets a harder and harder bite. Comfort is better than looking neat in this case. She will be better you doing it. Will take you time and patience but as long as she is comfortable that’s the main thing. The tablets helping her to relax. Also sometimes restrains can be an issue so if you have some one trust worthy to help you hold her. Each dog has there own ways. They can be hard to read especially when they are anxious. Fear aggression. I feel your pain, but time and patience you will get there. I hope the videos help you. If I can help more let me know x

You can add subtitles, maybe that will help you. I am a new channel. When the channel becomes larger I will be able to invest in better sound and recording equipment. I don’t earn a lot as a pet groomer. So maybe the channel will be better in time. Sorry for your hearing issues. X

Hi Wendy, Karla here with a tiny toy red poodle in whom I am trying so hard to learn how to Groom her myself. I have to say, I have great Respect and admiration for groomers, it’s such a hard job to learn how to do 🤷🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🙈🙃😞. So glad you popped up on my feed. I am hoping that you have recent full groom on poodles. I have watched so many tutorials and just about 3 that have really helped me including yours. I am at a loss as to how to do Phoebes legs? Also, she is so very sensitive on her paws, very ticklish. I am assuming her groomer had to put her in a ? Hoist in order to do her paws. Would you please show a full tutorial on doing their legs. I purchased a Wahls clipper set, and also purchased a set geared for little dogs which works really good. Thank you so much once again. For such a great tutorial on poodle top knotch.
