I am 25 years old in all Protestant denomination churches and am open to learning about Catholic teachings, it turns out that Protestant theology in interpreting the Bible is very bad. How can the Protestant Church reject Mother Mary? After seeing Tammy Peterson's video, Jordan Peterson's wife prefers Catholicism

AMEN!!! The Catholic church has much to glean from in her teachings, not necessarily in her adherent’s practices. Peace!!!

It sounds like God has you on a journey was well! It has been amazing to watch Mr & Mrs Peterson continue to wrestle with truth and where it continues to take them. They seem so honest and rigorous. You will enjoy Chris’s book.

Hello thank you for your clip. I was brought up, would you say culturally catholic. In catholic primary and secondary. For me what was missing was my parents sharing the bible and the catholic chatecisim. My child is strongly encouraged to read the bible, and go to catholic mass. I found just my personal experience, primary years, it felt like a ritual. But one day, I was renewed, by reading jesus words in the gospel of Matthew, where jesus says to the pharisees, clean inside your cup and dish! I changed to another denomination, my faith was certainly tested. It was time to go back to the catholic church where the gospel mission is Jesus! So there is a fear where my child will be going into high school. The catholic school is out of town. I didn't feel that catholic school helped me with my faith, it was hearing jesus teaching in the Gospels. However, I am very grateful for my parents introducing me to the catholic church Mass. But, I needed more from my parents.

Thank you for your note Mary. I think many of us wished we had more or different inputs from our parents. They all likely do the best they can and yet it seems to always be insufficient. Perhaps that is one thing many of us have in common. Lord, give us the grace to live in your truth, be the best parents we can and be grateful for all our parents tried to do for us. Amen. Keep up the great work and thank you for listening along. Please continue to share your thoughts when you feel moved. Blessings.

I an grateful for my parents introducing me to the catholic church and I had a lovely catholic education. But I do understand they did as best as they could. So the missing link is at home. But hopefully picked up on it early in his life to inform my son.

I need to pray for answers regarding a very toxic person in my parish. This person has on countless occasions been very, very hurtful, not to me but to others in my parish. I have a leadership position in my parish and have spoken to her about her behavior but nothing changes. We have lost people to ministries because of this person and I know people would come forward if this person left. Thank you for your advice, prayer is the answer.

Loved this Ron. Something I'm hoping we can explore as we have wonderful parishioners and volunteers wanting to give their lives to the Lord especially those beginning a new stage of life. Thanks so much Colleen for your testimony. So many gifted people in churches can be overlooked and we, as priests, don't know how to maximise their impact and empower them to become great servants of the Church.

Colleen’s witness is certainly an important one. I hope other parishes are inspired to engage more people of capacity to start a movement of grace and impact. Thanks for tuning in pal. And thank you for all you do to grow as a priest. You are a great man!

The problem you immediately have here is that the guns can’t be put down. One sides argument is “let me exist and treat me with basic decency” and the other side is “your a freaky pervert who is trying to sneak into the woman’s changing room, you shouldn’t even be alive”. There is no middle ground between “the informed consensus of the psychological and medical community” and “Ben Shapiro said you guys are bad”. If you want the guns down one entire side of the argument has to stop having the position of “I want to point guns at these people”.

Carlos and Jacinta’s experience as Chinese immigrants can apply to many Asian immigrants. So many have to hold down multiple jobs and loose site of their relationship with God. This new series of Alpha would be useful in my parish which has many Asian and African migrants with a strong presence of Filipino, Mexican and Samoan communities. I’m wondering if it would be in English. I listened to the point of Jacinta’s point about doing more than just praying twice because I see that all the time, where people don’t go beyond that because that’s what’s acceptable in parish culture. Enjoyed this and found very helpful.

Thanks for sharing Bishop Pohlmeier’s Report on the State of Faith Formation. His report gently makes points on the foundation of discipleship for those who are in the pews. It’s so well articulated. And it provides various studies for the different stages of making, maturing and missioning disciples. Most people’s faith formation is through confirmation at age 15. We didn’t have adult formation studies nor were we encouraged to do anything else other than pray. And prayer was private which cultivates a culture of silent faith. Now with technology we have so many resources such as this Leadership series to help the faithful in parish renewal and evangelization.
